(CYRUS' POV)
"Hey! Cyrus!" Tj yells after me.
I turn around, confused. "Do you want to hang out sometime?"
Did the captain of the basketball team just ask me to hang out with him? I tried to not look utterly surprised but that kinda failed when I realized my mouth was making an 'o' shape.
"Yeah sure cool that'd be dope!" Cut me some slack okay? I'm nervous!
Tj laughed, "Okay cool! Just give me your number or something cus-" Suddenly, the basketball team came up behind him and swooped him away, whooping and cheering.
I can't believe this just happened. I have to text Andi and Buffy!! My Mom pulled up next to me and I stepped into the car. On the car ride home, I pulled out my phone to text my friends.
Me: Guys! You'll never guess what just happened!!
Andi: What happened?!
Buffy: Do tell!!
Me: Tj Kippen just asked ME to hang out with him!! He even asked for my number too but unfortunately, I couldn't give it to him because he got swept away by the basketball team before I got a chance :/
Buffy: Cyrus, are you sure about this? Tj is bad news.
Andi: Wdym, Buffy?
Buffy: He's a bully. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. I don't think it's the best idea to be talking to that boy. I'm sorry, Cyrus.
Me: No, I get it. I just don't understand though. He seemed so nice at the game. He sat by me and everything when he saw that I was by myself! But I guess it is kinda suspicious. Like, why would he want to be friends with ME all of a sudden? I guess you're right
Andi: We're here for you, Cyrus <3
I slipped my phone back into my pocket and stared out the car window. "You're awfully quiet tonight. How was the game?" My mom asked. "It was great! We won 42-38! They all played really well, especially Buffy." I replied, enthusiastically. "Well that's good to hear. I'm glad you had fun." We pulled into the driveway and I hopped out of the car. When I got inside, I said goodnight to my parents and went right upstairs to my room. I closed the door behind me and set up Netflix on my PS4. I changed into my pajamas and sat down on my bed. Right when I was about to press play, I got a text from an unknown number.
Unkown: Hey
Me: Hey...who is this?
I waited for a reply but after 38 seconds, I shut my phone off and set it on my bed, beside me. I pressed play on my controller. I was binge watching "Grey's Anatomy". It's such a great show! Ding ding
I picked up my phone and gasped when the unknown number revealed themselves.
