Long Nights
Flat on my back I lay
Eyes wide open,
Unable to close from
The longing they bare.
I shift to my side,
Met with broken anguish
Arms fail to engulf me
Alone in the dark,
I search for you.
Yearning for fanciful intimacy
Yet you are nowhere to be found,
So I wait patiently
One day I know,
Those arms will hold me
And I will long no more.
