Jay groaned, flopping onto his bed. Today was a terrible day. Jay ended up forgetting about all of his homework due today. He could make up most of it over the weekend for half credit... or just accept zeros. Jay didn't know if he had the energy or will to do them anyways. He had been living in his mind recently, becoming distant and not as talkative. And it was all because of her. Jay threw his pillow at the wall. Just thinking of her made him angry. She was causing (and had caused) so many problems in his life. But then... thinking about her made his heart flutter. And it made him CRAZY!
Ding!
Jay looked. A text from Cole:
Cole: Hey, you okay?
Jay sighed. He really, really, really did not feel like texting Cole back at the moment. But last time he did that, Cole showed up at his house, which is something Jay also wished for not to happen. He sighed but started to type anyways.
Jay: Yeah, why wouldn't I be?
Cole: You did leave school pretty quickly
Jay: Homework. Lots and lots of homework.
Cole: Mhm. You've been using that excuse all week.
Jay: Whatever.
Jay: Why are you texting me?
Cole: Gee, you're testy.
Cole: The guys and I are going to the karaoke bar tonight if you wanna join.
Jay: Just the guys?
Cole: Just.
Jay: I'll think about it.
Cole: We'll be there at 6. I really hope you come.
Jay threw down his phone. He really did need to get out of his mind and spend some time with his friends. He really wasn't doing anything productive with his life anyway...
5:35 pm
"Kai, why are you always late?" Lloyd asked him as Kai walked over to the circular table.
"You don't have a sister who wants to know everything," Kai responded, taking a seat.
"Can't Nya just accept the fact that this is strictly a guys night?"
"As soon as I told her Jay would be here she backed off."
"Speaking of," Cole started to say, "You guys have noticed it too, right?" Everyone nodded their heads. The ones who knew exchanged glances, leaving Kai confused.
"What?" Kai asked.
Everyone stayed quiet.
"Is it about Jay?"
"Sort of," Lloyd told him looking a bit uncomfortable.
"It's mostly about Jay," Zane said.
"Oh god," Kai facepalmed, "It has to deal with those two, doesn't it?"
"Well..." Cole started, "You know how we were fighting all of those cupids earlier this week?"
"And the Cupid on the cloud," Zane added.
Kai started to tap his fingers on the table. "And?"
"We think that Jay got hit by one of Cupid's arrows!" Lloyd blurted.
"I thought that was common knowledge." Kai gave them a strange look.
Lloyd shot up from his seat. "No Kai. The Cupid. The one who shoots arrows and makes people fall in love."
