Scarlets alarm rang every morning at 6:10,she would wake up,shower,get dressed,brush her teeth,do her hair,eat breakfast,and check to see if her parents are home.They weren't today.It has been three weeks since she last saw her parents.They told her that they would be back in the morning and never came back.Last time her parents were gone for a while Scarlet went searching for them and found them high in an alley.They thought she was gonna hurt them so they hit her,and hit her,and hit her.When she went to school the next day a teacher asked her what happened and she lied and said she fell down the stairs.They believed her.

Scarlet was running out of food and had no money left.So,she did what she always does when there is little food and she is broke.She would steal from her parents.They have a safe in there bedroom filled with money.They think that Scarlet doesn't know that it exists.Not only does she know it exists she also knows the combination.It is 54321,Scarlet saw them putting in the combination.

She put in the combination and took out $200.That is enough for her to get food and a treat for herself.Every time she would take out money she would get extra to treat herself.Whether it is new clothes,books,one time she even bought a phone with a date plan which her parents are secretly paying for.She uses it to contact her only friend Abby.Abby was the only person Scarlet could trust.She knew nothing about Scarlet's parents or having to steal from her parents to get food.

Scarlet walked to the store.She got her food and then decided to get a new pair of combat boots.She paid,and then walked home.She would have enough food for about 2 weeks,if she rations.She is good at doing that.She would eat 1 piece of toast for breakfast,a pb&j for lunch,and 1 mac and cheese cup for dinner.

When she got home she put her food away and then texted Abby.

She said,"Hi."

Abby didn't respond so Scarlet powered her phone down and turned on her tv.The Voice was playing.Scarlet watched a few minutes of it and then went into her room to sleep.
