*spencers POV*
It's been 1 month. 1 month of opal not being in the house. 1 month of my children's laughs not filling up the house. 1 month of constant fighting. 1 month of the thought of doctors harassing my little girl. 1 month. That's all it takes. That's all it takes for your world to slowly start falling apart. That's all it takes for your child to get worse instead of better. That's all it takes for your marriage to slowly slip away right under your feet.
"TOBY ITS NOT MY FAULT!" I yell "OH NO OF COURSE NOT BECAUSE NOTHING IS EVER YOUR FAULT" he yells back "What is that supposed to mean?!!" I ask him furiously "oh you know just that anything bad that ever happens it's always my fault like A my fault, you being a single mom for 5 years my fault, sophomore year MY FREAKING FAULT" he yells
*flashback*
Sophomore year
"It's gonna be okay I just fell down the stairs the baby is fine right Toby?!" I ask tears filling up my eyes "it will be okay" he says grabbing my hand comforting me "right okay" I say calming down then the doctor walks in giving me the saddest look I've ever seen "I'm sorry-" "no no no no this is not happening" I say beginning to freak out again "I'm so sorry" the doctor says and leaves " hey look it's probably for the best we're only in sophomore year we still have a whole life ahead of us" Toby says and then the rest. Well it's pretty messy
*end of flashback*
"How could you even BRING THAT UP?!!" I yell "WELL ITS TRUE ISNT IT?!" He spits back "this isn't good for the baby I need to leave for a while" I tell him tear filling up my eyes "Spencer no" he says "Adalin and I will be back but for now we are leaving" I tell him "ADALIN COME ON WE ARE GOING TO VISIT HANNA" I yell and she runs downstairs the light in her eyes she starts putting her outdoor gear on and so do I "Spencer you can't do this you can't just take her away from me like this!" Is all I hear him yell while walking out the door. I buckle adalin up and hop in the front seat and drove.
When I arrived at Hanna's it was pouring rain just setting the mood I knock on the door and Hanna opens the door "hey Spence what's up?" She asks genuinely "can we stay her for a night or two?" I ask and she nods her head and opens the door some more and adalin runs up to see Kimora, iris and Ryan "so what happened?!" Hanna asks and I explain the whole thing "ok well you're always welcome here and I'm glad I was your first choice" she says smiling
1 week later
I bring adalin to see opal and when we walk in the room I'm shocked she looks so healthy and happy "opal!!" Adalin yells and runs on to opals hospital bed and the nurse walks in "hi how is everything going with opal?" I ask her and she has a huge smile on her face "you can bring her home today!" And I start crying "omg really?!" I ask and give her a huge hug and leave the room to call Toby I dial his number and it goes straight to voicemail I call 3 more times but no answer. I sign the forms for opal and I drop them off at Hanna's and go to the house to see what is going on with Toby. I walk in and almost trip over a beer bottle I look around and there's empty beer bottles everywhere and there's Toby laying on the couch drunk off his ass "TOBAIS CAVANAUGH" I yell and he is startled "OMG SPENCER" he yells stumbling up to me "I'm so so sorry please come back please!!" He pleads "oh I was thinking about it but then I walk into MY house to see this no definitely not until you get this house spotless and you smarten up!" I yell and go upstairs and grab some clothes for the girls and while I'm leaving I yell "oh and by the way your daughter is home not that you care" slam the door and leave once I'm in the car and driving I start bawling I don't know why but I do then when I walk into Hanna's house with the clothes a pool of water is under me "oh no"
