Spencer's POV
I'm totally stoked that we're having another girl but lately opal hasn't been eating and I'm getting worried she eats little to nothing during super and at school she only drinks her juice boxes " hey Toby?" I say "yes sweeetie" " have you noticed opal not eating?" I ask him while packing their lunch bags for tomorrow " ya I have noticed it maybe we should schedule her an appointment for tomorrow?" He tells me and I nod in agreement and put their lunches in the fridge for tomorrow
The next day at 12:30 pm
Toby took the day off work today to come with me to opals doctors appointment. We're currently picking up opal from school and going to the doctors, we park the car and go inside her school straight to the office and they say her name over the intercom and she comes to the office I'm her adorable little mini heels we sign her out walk to the car and drive off to the doctors
At the doctors office
Toby's POV
"Opal cavanaugh" the person says and we walk to the room and wait I have so much going though my head and they are all the worst things opal is sitting on my lap and I can tell that spencer is nervous the doctor walks in and opal gets up and sits on the table "hello mr and Mrs cavanaugh you made this appointment due to lack of eating correct?" Dr.freeman asks "correct" spencer answers "ok great hello opal can you answer a few questions for me?" He says talking to opal "yup!" She says excitedly she loves answering questions "okay so opal how old are you?" He asks " I am 7" she answers " ok when's your birthday?" He asks " July 12th 2010" she tells him "okay now mom and dad when did you start noticing the changes in the amount she is eating?" He asks us and I let spencer answer "well around 2-3 weeks ago" she answers " okay how much has she been eating?" "Well little to nothing and her lunches she only drinks her juice and that's it and she's in a lot of physical activities and she's under weight already I was getting nervous" I answer "okay how about opal you come stand on this scale and we'll see how much you weigh" he tells opal and she gets off the table and steps on the scale and it reads 28lbs which obviously for 7 is quite unhealthy " oh no okay she is psychiatrically stable but it seems from the information you've told me she's had very limited food intake or other pathogenic weight control techniques so I'm gonna need to ask you a few more questions" he tells us and I become scared "how has she been acting in normal social or educational situations?" He asks us "um well in social situations she has been a bit odd I guess you could say she is shy which is unusual and Her breathing sometimes quickens and as for educational I mean she has been a bit distracted but that's usual due to her ADHD but she has not been studying as much" spencer answers " okay so I'm afraid she is at the stage of partial hospital which means she will need to be in a hospital for 2 weeks at the least" and my jaw drops and I can see spencer holding back tears the appointment ends and he recommended that we get her hospitalized tonight.
Hi oh gosh this chapter was extremely hard to write as wrote off of personal experiences everything I stated in the appointment was what happened at one of my appointments at that age and that's how much I weighed so I wrote this partially because it was recommended but also for a little twist and I wanted to put some off My experiences in this anyway bye! -TEAGAN🌸🌹
