"I hate Snow," Josh said as we marched on

"Come on mate, it ain't that bad, I have felt winter's back home worst than this" Oliver joked

"Well I'm with Josh on this one, Snow sucks" Alex added in

I shook my head as we continued marching forward. It had been pretty peaceful since we had split off from the main group.

The only sound to be heard was the howling of the wind as we marched on.

I looked up at the morning sun. I had never been so cold while seeing the sun so high in the sky in my life.

"Hey guys Look at this at this" someone up front yelled

We ran up to what was a giant hole in the ice. It was a huge hole and was no doubt made by some marine animals so they could get air when swimming under the ice.

But that's not what had everyone staring.

Slumped half out of the water was a massive gray animal. It looked sort of like an earth whale but was more eel-like body and had very sharp teeth in its mouth.

"Keep it moving men, who don't have time gawk at dead wildlife" Geyser squad leader yelled at us

"What was that," I asked Mark as we continued marching on

"Harvest whale," he said, "They were a common sight on Harvest. They migrated all over the planets. Harvest own gentle giants."

He looked down and sighed

"When the Covenant started glassing the planet it devastated the ecosystem. Harvest scientist are studying the wildlife every chance they get. They estimated 77% all of aquatic life and 47% of land animals went extinct. And that number is quickly rising."

"Dam," I said

"That's why we have to make the Covenant pay for what they have done" Dave angrily said

"And make sure they can never do the same to another planet again" Luke added

I looked up into the sky. "The wind had stopped bowling, and it had gotten even quieter than before.

I patted Dave on the shoulder. He had begun gripping his weapon harder.

I was about to say something to him when I heard a very low hum.

"Shhh," I said to Luke who was talking to Mark

"What" he questioned

"Shhh," I repeated louder.

Most of my squad mates had turned and looked me, but their silence made the hum clearer.

"What's the holdup Raze squad" Geysers squad leader shouted from further ahead

I didn't even need to say shhh because when he had stopped talking he heard it too.

"Ghost," Geysers squads said, "And from the sound of it a lot of them too."

"What do we sir," Mark asked

"Take Cover"

"What?!?" Dave protested "We should take them on."
