Didn't See That Coming (Pietro Maximoff X Reader)

It had only been a few days since the attack in Africa and we were already moving from the base to a lab in South Korea. Ultron had told us we needed to find a woman called Helen Cho. Ultron said that she had a device called a regeneration cradle that could build him a new body out of flesh that could make him unstoppable. The growing feeling of nervousness had grown since I had been in Ultrons presence, but I always shook it aside thinking I was just being paranoid. We were waiting in a small lab room with two Iron Leigeon bots and Ultron. He clutched the Vibranium in his metal hand and stared at the coffin like box in the center of the room. Ultron had told us that it was a device called a regeneration cradle and that it could build a new body with the right materials. Suddenly the door to the lab swished open and a young woman walked in alone, but stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the 11 foot taller robot in front of her.

"Scream, and your entire staff dies, " Ultron said threatingly as he walked towards Dr. Cho, "I could've killed you, Helen, the night we met. I didn't."

"Do you expect a thank you note?" She retorted. Ultron stepped out of the way so that she could see the cradle.

"I expect you to know why." Ultron says gesturing towards the cradle. Her eyes widened as she finally realized what he wanted.

"The Cradle." She says quietly, but then a recording plays over her by Ultron.

"This is the next thing, Tony." HER recorded voice said before Ultron walked over to the cradle his fingers gently brushing it.

"This is the next me." He said eerily. Dr. Cho walked forward in disbelief her eyes not leaving the cradle.

"The regeneration cradle prints tissue, it cannot build a living body." She said, but Ultron mearly signaled one of his bots to walk forward something clutched in its hand. My eyes widened as I finally saw what he was holding. Loki's scepter.

"I can, you can. You lack the materials. Your a brilliant woman, Helen. But we all have room to improve." Ultron said just as the bot pressed the scepters tip to her chest turning her usual brown eyes black and then an icy blue. She nodded and took the canister of Vibranium and quickly going to work.

《A few hours later》

"It's beautiful. The Vibranium atoms aren't just compatible with the tissue cells, they're binding them. And S.H.I.E.L.D never even thought-" Dr. Cho said looking over the screens and the cradle as the new body was being built.

"The most versital substance on the planet and they used it to make a Frisbee. Typical of humans, the scratch the surface and never thing to look within." Ultron said as he was being plugged into the cradle itself. Suddenly I heard a loud shatter and my head shot in the direction it came from. The scepters keep no longer was there and now only a light yellow stone floating midair. Ultron reach out taking the stone in his hand and opening the cradle lid and dropping the stone in the forehead of the body.

"Cellular cohesion will take a few hours, but we can initiate the consciousness stream. We're uploading your cerebral matrix... now." Dr. Cho said going over to the main control screen on the cradle. Suddenly, I could feel the body in the cradle. I could feel his thoughts, he was dreaming. I knew Wanda felt it to by the way she was slowly walking towards it with a small smile on her face.

"I can read him. He's dreaming." I said looking at the cradle with interest. Dr. Cho, without looking up from the control panel, answered me.

"I wouldn't call it dreams. It's Ultron's base consciousness, informational noise. Soon-" she explained, but Ultron cut her off before she could finish.

"How soon? I'm not being pushy." he asked as I watched Wanda walk forward and press her hands to the cradle.

"Were imprinting a physical brain. There are no shortcuts. Even if your magic gem-" Dr. Cho began, but was cut off by a pained scream. Wanda jumped backwards from the cradle holding her head and breathing deeply. Pietro and I rushed forward with Pietro embracing her, while I held onto her shoulder and rubbing her back. Ultron stood up startled at her sudden outburst, but Wanda looked at him in horror.
