I stopped when i heard a familiar voice. Hindi ako pwede magkamali. This is her voice and this can't be happening.
Sa kabila ng aking pagkakalito. Ay nagawa kong sagutin ang nasa kabilang linya. "Tita Ataska?"
The other line became quiet. Just like me, maybe she's also confuse or she's trying to recognize my voice. Please sabihin mong hindi nga ikaw 'yan, Tita.
"Yes," she answered shortly.
"C-cailee?"
Mariin akong pumikit. Face this. Accept all the consequences neatly.
"Tita Ataska! I missed you!"
I tried to make my tone happy to lighten the heavy atmosphere.
"Me too hija. Where's Nathan? Is he okay? Alalang alala na ako sa batang 'yan. Baka hindi ko pa mapigilan ang sarili ko at lumipad papunta dyan sa pilipinas." She laughed kahit halatang halata sa tono nito ang matinding pag-aalala.
I didn't answer. Don't know what to say. Para ako ang nasa ibang bansa kasi wala akong kaalam alam sa sinasabi ni Tita Ataska. And it's slowly killing me. Damn it. "Hija? Still There?" She asked, dahilan para matauhan ako. "Yes tita!"
"But.. Saan po ba kayo nag woworry? May nangyari po ba kay.. Nathan?" The line went quiet. Nakagat ko ang pang ibabang labi ko.

"Don't tell me.. You didn't know?"
"Know what? Tita?"
Mas lalong naging mabigat ang usapan. What is she talking about? I'm damn confuse.
"ahm nathan i-"
Halos maihagis ko ang cellphone na hawak hawak ng maputol ang tawag. Sinubukan kong tawagan ulit ang number ni Tita Ataska pero wala na.
