My name is Michael Leong, and I'm falling to my death.
Not in real life, of course. It's all happening in this game called CyberWorld. None of all this is real, but my feelings of anxiety are. Green plasma bolts fire at me from every angle, which I'm certain are from TIE Fighters.
I desperately bang my left fist on the Iron Man repulsor gauntlet I'm wearing on my right hand, but it fails to power back up, and I keeping falling. Another bolt hits my back, and my health decreases even more. If two more bolts hit me, my avatar will be gone, same if my body hits the ground.
I silently thank God I'm not wearing a haptic suit, but I realise my headset can stimulate the impact when I finally hit the ground. The vibration it'll give out isn't enough to cause damage to my physical body, but it's enough to scare the shit out of me.
I'm screaming as loud as hell now, but there isn't anyone to hear me. As I slowly near the ground, I wrap my arms and hands around my head to brace for the impact. There's absolutely nothing i can do.
Nothing.
