Water
Like drowning in warm blue satin sheets
Luring me into a sea of dreamless sleep
But the water is only blue because the cerulean sky reflects off the midnight sea
And you are a nightmare
Not formulated by my childish subconscious
But a living
Breathing
Torturous nightmare
Your hands like burning matches
Unquenchable even by the water that filled my veins
But I would rather tie bricks to my ankles
Let the once comforting water fill my lungs with fatal freedom
Than spend one more night engulfed in
Your wildfires
Your satin sheets
Waiting for my nightmare
