The moon was full and bright, the shrill cry of the baby pierced the silent night.
The elders were ready for the ceremony, their formation similar to that of the moon above, their cults symbol was imbedded in the ground, ever visible and white. With their low chanting it flashed brightly, reflecting the colour of the moon.
The mother approached with the baby now calmed, she slipped into the formation, placed the child in the symbol and stepped away. It flashed once more, at first, the bright colour of the moon, but then it turned bright red, the now shrieking baby's eyes turned same, and the moon turned blood.
The assembled elders raised their heads, and one by one, their eyes took the colour of the moon. The baby's mother still stood outside their formation, her head bowed also, she then raised it, but instead , it flashed a deep rich blue of the ocean, the child's shrieking seized, her eyes turned blue also, the blood in the moon thinned, so did the light in the elders eyes.
Slowly going round the child, the baby wafted into the air, each elder outstretched a hand , their majo rings flashed with beams from the moon, as the baby was engulfed in a huge brilliant light. The baby seemed excited, so joyful even the moon seemed to smile down at her. The elders came to a stop and the baby slowly drifted down.
One elder stepped out of the formation and picked up the child, she smiled down at the child, the child seemed to smile too, she chuckled, but it was too low and too sad. The baby yawned sleepily
" Selene is your name, dear child" she said.
The others nodded, the elder continued
" You dear child, have a great but unfortunately sad destiny. Destined to be the most powerful of our cult, you will grow in unearthly flawless beauty, your free, innocent and cheerful spirit will attract many. These sweet qualities will be your pain, it'll cause you to fall victim to deceit and hurt. Your powers will be confined until your 16th birthday, for with your powers comes your misery. Your life would have been perfect, if not for the fact that the bringer of your pain will be your one and only love, to avoid him would be fruitless, for he is a very necessary element in the bringing forth of your blessed son, the bringer of your happiness"
She beckoned the baby's mother forward
" You have a very beautiful child here, her dear eyes reflecting the sea, her hair; more shiny than a crows feathers, her smile; an enchantment on its own, skin; flawlessly and beautiful, no amount of sun or labour will damage it, lips; very tempting , cherries, and figure like that of a goddess, even Aphrodite will smile down appreciatively"
She handed the baby to her mother and put an enchanted mojo ring on her finger. The baby was turned upside down, the elder's hand placed on the full moon engraved on her back, it shrunk and glowed till it was crescent. The red in her her dimmed and thinned out, leaving it all black, her features also seemed to dimmed , but there was still no mistaking the beauty that radiated from her.
The mother thanked the elders and headed home, she was sad, but happy, at least , there was joy in the end, at least she'd get to taste happiness for a long while in her life. She looked down at the baby, she was sound asleep, a sleep so peaceful, her mother felt it too, everything was going to be alright, she was sure of it.

So there you have it, the first chapter. I'm still nervous about it cause its still kinda fuzzy and.....

Destiny
ParanormalIt's got magic , it's got mystery, wizards , demons , werewolves. Even ghosts. There's lots of stuff mixed in there. I wont say it's the best but I guess it's good enough to try, please do , and tell me what you think.
