Okay, so I wouldn’t say I’m a mysterious wonder, but I heard several campers calling me that throughout the day. However, Jo thought that it would be funny to call me a freak of nature. We'll see who's still laughing at the end of the day.

First, the Hermes cabin, along with every other cabin, had Ancient Greek. I paid close attention even though I already knew everything Chiron was saying. The only time I didn’t pay attention to Chiron’s lesson was when Clarisse screamed, “We’re under attack.” I was hunched over with laughter at the sight of her face. I had my suspicions that Jo was the one behind the mustache, seeing as no one else is stupid enough to get on Clarisse’s bad side. That girl has a serious death wish.

When the lesson finally ended, we headed over to the Big House. Our job was to mail out the letters home. This magical process didn’t actually take place in the Big House; it all took place at the Pavilion. We were only walking to the Big House to get the supplies: some written letters, stamps, envelopes, pens, etc. Each of us picked up one of the boxes and then walked over to the Pavilion. The boxes were not heavy, but they were loaded with heartfelt letters to loved one. It must be nice to have someone to write to. Once at the Pavilion, the Stoll brothers assigned everyone to a different station.

My job assignment was to seal the letters in the already filled out envelope and then stamp them. With everyone working hard at their assigned spot in the assembly line, we finished after only fifteen minutes. Connor and Travis knew better than to let the Hermes cabin run free, even if it was only for a little over ten minutes. As a result, they told us to write our own letters home.

I took a piece of paper along with a pen before making my way to an empty table. I just sat there, staring at the paper. Why write a letter to nobody? I have no family besides Jo and I can talk to her at anytime.

“Let me guess, you have a case of writer's block?” Travis asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Uh, no, I just have no one to write to that's all.”

He sat down across from me before continuing, “Everyone has someone to write to, always. Plus, you don’t have to actually send the letter. You can write to your mortal parent; vent your feelings towards them.  Then, if you get the chance, give it to them.”

At the sight of my face, Connor added, “Or not.”

Once they left me alone, I decided to make a list. I titled it The Mysterious Wonder’s Abilities. If I was ever going to figure out who my godly parent was, then I needed a list.

After receiving about a gazillion papercuts, we headed down to the lava wall with the Ares kids. Time for some revenge, Jo.

When I arrived at the wall, I saw Jo walking over to Clarisse. Well, crap. The upside to this situation, it looks like Clarisse is going to take care of my payback problem with Jo. The down side, Jo has a natural talent for pissing people off. In other words, we’re dead. Camp Half-Blood will be awarded the honor of witnessing the beginning of World War III unfold before them.

Jo’s face stayed calm throughout the entire conversation. Clarisse’s face on the other hand, not so much.

Every time Jo opened her mouth to speak, Clarisse’s expression grew grimmer and grimmer. Her face was now red with anger. Both of her fists were clenched so tight that her knuckles were as white as freshly fallen snow. Her lips were pressing together into a thin line.
