Tryout and Fit In

Veronica had rushed straight out of math class as soon as the over head bell rung. The serpent who had sat by her all hour had kept staring at her, she even felt his eyes on her as she practically ran out the door. She felt nervous that whole hour, she felt if she did the wrong thing he'd notice.

Veronica let out a sigh of relief as she found Kevin by her locker in halls.

"Veronica!" Kevin had looked down at the smaller girl excitingly. "Okay, So today in first period you know how the Serpents moved to Riverdale right?"

Veronica nodded her head, trying to keep up with how fast Kevin was talking.

"Well this one hottie, Fangs sat by me in Chem and he even offered me to sit with him at breakfast, which means you're coming to!" Kevin was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement, it had been forever since he found a boyfriend.

"Kevin.. are you sure?" Veronica chewed her bottom lip nervously, rocking on her heels.

"Veronica please! I promise I will make it up to you" he pleaded, giving her his best puppy dog eyes.

She sighed reluctantly nodding her head. "Okay.."

Kevin broke out in a smile and let out a small squeal of excitement, making quick to grab Veronica's hand and dragging her to the cafeteria. She squealed softly, as Kevin practically dragged her across the floor and to where the serpents where sitting comfortably.

Three seats were left open.

A tan boy with short black hair smirked as the approached, patting the seat next to him. "You can sit here Kev".

Kevin smiles, sitting beside him pulling Veronica into the seat beside him.

"Is this the friend you talked about 1st hour?" The same boy had asked.

Kevin nodded "Yes, Veronica this is Fangs, Fangs this is Veronica"

The boy, who Veronica now knew as Fangs smiled gently at her. "Nice to meet you".

Veronica smiled shyly and simply nodded.

Kevin rolled his eyes "she's shy, also Veronica this is Toni!" He had motioned to the girl sitting across Fangs with the pink hair.

Toni gave Veronica a quick smile before looking back down at what seemed to be a camera.

"Well we'd introduce to more, but Betty and Jughead are getting their asses chewed out". He left out a small laugh at the thought.

Veronica was about to ask why, until three more people came through the cafeteria doors. A boy and a girl who both looked angry came storming in first and after was the same boy from first period. The tall serpent who left Veronica with a weird feeling in her gut.

"Ah there they are" Fangs snickered as Jughead and Betty slid into their seats next to Toni.

Veronica glanced between them and back at Kevin, it was awkward and she really wanted to leave. She was about to, until she felt someone sit beside her. Veronica quickly glanced to see who it was, but immediately looked away.

It was the same guy.

She felt her body tense up, and she didn't know why. He made her feel nervous, not that she wasn't always nervous, but in a weird way.

Like I wanna impress you way.

Veronica quickly shook the thought out of her head, he was a serpent. There would be no way he'd even think she's remotely attractive.

"So Betty I heard there's Vixen tryouts you and Toni should go for" Fangs playfully nudged Toni.

"Hell no Fogarty" Betty hissed at him, flicking her curled blonde hair over her shoulder.
