MEG POV
The day went pretty well for me until the campfire.
See, I've never been actually chosen for a quest. Even before Annabeth and Percy were dating and Annabeth was chosen to go down to the Labyrinth, she picked Percy and goat-boy, Grover Underwood. Percy was chosen for a quest a day after he got to Camp Half-Blood. I hate those little stuck up couples who choose each other for everything! I've been here for 7 years, my father is the Lord of Prophecy, so explain to me why I've never been able to go on a quest? Well the point is, Leo, Piper and Jason have already been picked for a quest, the very day that they got here. It's not fair! I couldn't help it. I ran off into the woods to go to Studio 7. This effing sucks. Almost 8 years at Camp Half-Blood, not so much as a word from Father, Leo's here for a day and he gets a quest. You know, I'm starting to get why Luke decided to rebel against the gods. Les dieux sont putain parent terrible!
LEO POV
For some odd reason, when Rachel said that me, Piper and Jason were going on a quest, Meg ran away.
She seemed pretty mad and I got up to go follow her, but Chiron said not to. "Why?" I asked.
"Elithya-Megara just needs to blow off some steam," Chiron said. "She gets quite upset when people who haven't been here for a whole day get quests, while she, who has been here for 7 years, her father's sacred number, no less, and hasn't been so much as offered a quest for the Golden Apples of the Hesperides. She'll come around though." This made me curious. From what I'd heard so far, Meg was one of the toughest and meanest demigods at camp(which wasn't a real change from 1-2 grades and running away). I mean, she never got caught by the cops, but the point is, Meg survived and managed to kill her Leviathan stepdad, but had never even been offered the smallest, most insignificant quest ever. Chiron said she snuck out on quests she wasn't supposed to a lot though.
I decided that I'd look for Meg and that wingless dragon Nyssa had told me about later. Probably after lights out.
