I hug my pillow and pretend it's Shawn Mendes. That's normal, right? Sure. I get up and rub my eyes with the back of my hand. I hate school. And to make it worse I'm the new girl.

Everyone thinks the new girl is the girl that turns popular and dates all the guys, let me tell you now... THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.
Anyways, I sit in front of my mirror and applied some lip gloss and mascara, and pop on my favourite t shirt that says 'Attention' on it, although I would have liked it more if it said 'whore' on it as well.

I put in my headphones and turned on my favourite song 'six feet under' by Billie eilish. I sing to it, catching the melody and the rhythm almost perfectly. I like to think I'm a pretty good singer.

Im only half way down the stairs but I see my mother and father at the kitchen talking- more like arguing- about whether noodles or spaghetti is better.
"Hello, Kyla." My mother says, turning her attention towards me.
"I told you- NOODLES ARE BETTER.- Hey Ky-Ky" my dad stops in the middle of his sentence.
"Hi crazy people." I laugh.
"Honey, don't you need to go to school already?"
I groan. "Yea.. School.. Yuck."

I arrive at the school and wait at the entrance until the bell rings. I look down at my schedule and see that I have dance first for 2 hours. YES!  I absolutely love dance! I happily walk to the locker room and get changed. A few of the girls give me the biggest bitch stare of the century.
"You. Who are you?" The blonde barbie points and me.
"Kyla?" I confess timidly.
"Well" she steps forward.
"I don't know why you are here, but your presence is disturbing me." The Blonde barbie says, eyeing me up and down.
"The only thing that is disturbing is your fake hair." I spit out like venom that seems to hurt her ego a little bit. Poor her.
She is taken aback by my statement and actually takes a minute to process what I've said.
"W-What did you say?" She rages.
"I said your fake ass hair is disturbing, do I need to say it slower for you to understand?"
"Whatever." She whispers and she strolls into the dance studio.

In our classroom there are five girls and four boys, which makes it an extremely small classroom. Maybe it's because not many students do dance. The teacher walks in with her handbag and her ballet shoes on, from only looking at her you can catch the sweet vibe from her, the class hushens and stares at her.
"Hello students, we have a new classmate, Kyla come here and introduce yourself." Miss Pin declares.
I stand up awkwardly and speak.
"Hello, I'm Kyla Milton, and-"
A boy strides in as if he is used to the idea of cutting in when someone is speaking. He has curly brown hair and eyes as dark as chocolate, yum.

I sit down because of the sudden outburst but Miss Pin carries on talking.
"So, students you will practice a solo and show it to the class, in 1 and a half hours we will head to the theatre in our main area and perform it there, you may also use costumes."
The whole class starts to whisper from enjoyment and excitement, I can hear a familiar voice that says
"This is going to be fun."
The time finishes and I scan the costumes but my eyes stop at a beautiful baby pink Leo with a skirt, I put it into my bag and wait for the teacher to come back.

Finally, she does and I feel like I'm going to burst inside. I'm so nervous that I can feel the ramen noodles in my throat from yesterday. Miss pin calls us up one by one.
"Kyla."
I hesitantly walk onto the stage and although it's only the eleven of us, counting our teacher, I'm still incredibly scared but excited.
The music starts and I can instantly feel the sadness from the song and convey it, my legs are extremely extended and my arms are as sharp as ever.
The song ends and at first everyone's faces are stunned. Even the blonde barbie bitch, but they all burst into applause, I bow and exit the stage.

I feel sad that the class is over since it was so fun. As you can probably tell, yes, I do dance but... pshhh they didn't need to know that.
I walk in the hallway to get to my next class, the sound of my trainers hitting the floor. A hand taps me on the shoulder and I pause in my tracks.
"Hey. I'm not a dancer but that was amazing." The chocolate-eyed boy compliments me.
I hold my breath in, my heart beating slightly faster.
"Thanks I'm Kyla." I reply his brown eyes seeping into my hazel ones.
"I'm Tyler." He shakes my hand.
"What do you have next?" I ask.
"Chemistry."
"Same."
