chapter 4: red and white

☆♤☆♤☆♤☆♤☆

Being accepted into Yuuei High was almost a dream come true for most, but for [Y/N] it seemed like a bad omen. "Seize the moment," her mother had said, "make this world into a better place!" How could she deny such a sweet woman's wishes? After all, she was in her old prime, so it would be best to appeal her while she was still alive. Yeah, bit of a negative Nancy, but what could [Y/N] say? She had always wanted to be in the medical field, but now she was stuck in the main hero course. Honestly, she desperately tried to flunk her written exam, but it didn't seem to do anything.

Recalling the numbers on the leaderboard, she grimaced as she thought of being in the same classroom with Bakugou. Though it was definitely a relief when she'd heard that her sweet boy Midoriya had made it in.

Today was a day like any other, unfortunately. While [Y/N] wished for a more eventful life, she was granted with a wealthy lifestyle but nothing much to do with it. Of course, many argued that she could buy a whole amusement park if she wanted to, but what was the point if she knew that no one would be there with her? Besides, it was a poor investment either way, so that was out of the question.

Maybe, just maybe, she could find Shigaraki again?

Her suspicions were exceptionally high when meeting the blue haired male, but it was too early to judge. Sure, he'd most likely been sent to kill her, but what's the harm in redemption?

No, he probably didn't want to see her. Although it didn't seem like he despised her company, he certainly didn't enjoy it either. Tense would be a way to put their conversation. At the time, she didn't even have the will to relentlessly flirt with the chapped male, even if he was a bit dapper at night. He didn't seem like the type to be affected by such a thing, so what was the point in provoking him?

With a sigh, [Y/N] fell back onto the grassy floor, staring at the beautiful blue sky above. When staring at the purely white clouds, it reminded her of a beautiful head of hair that she'd seen the day before. Such an amazing mix of red and white, she thought with admiration, a small smile appearing onto her face. The wind made a small howling noise as the minutes passed by, going from loud to eerily quite. It was odd to hear nothing but the trees and waves of the air; usually, there would be a small bunny that would scamper by, or even a fox on the sunny days.

After all, this was an ordinary day.

But, it somewhat felt special.

As her mind wandered off into the dark abyss, she began to think of a poem that she had read the other day. It was famous poem about the tragedies of war, followed by obscene words that could only describe so much about the torn lives of so many. The image was vivid, terrifying, filled with so much grief that any normal empathetic human being would gasp in utter mortification. Even [Y/N], who happened to be interested in dark literature, found chills traveling down her spine when reading this poem.
