[Louis's POV]

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock beeping, trying to make my ears bleed. I groan and click the snooze button, quieting the noise. I check to see it's six in the morning and decide whether or not to get up and take a shower, or stay in bed for twenty more minutes and enjoy sleep but go to work smelly. I kick the covers off of me, deciding that I wanted to smell nice.

Living in Doncaster in a flat with my best mate Zayn has given me freedom, but living exactly ten minutes away from my mum has given what I thought was no privacy. Even though I'm almost twenty-one, she still acts as if I'm younger than Daisy and Phoebe, my young twin sisters. 'Oh, but you'll always be my special Boo Bear!' I remember her saying, when I said I was moving in with Zayn about a year ago.

I quickly dry off and start thinking about how I should style my hair today, which I decided to hide with a gray beanie I stole from Zayn. I put on my green polo for my job as a barista at The Coffee Place, which is a coffee shop (gee, who would've known?) about two blocks away from my flat. I put on my black chinos with some dark green Toms and shut the door walking over to my work.

As I walk to work, I think about having to go over to my mum's tonight for dinner. Supposedly, I was going to meet my sister Lottie's new boyfriend, Nail? Is that it? No, what is it? I remembered it's spelled sort of like Nail but it's pronounced differently.... Niall! That's his name! I groan, slightly annoyed. Great, my little sister has a boyfriend, but I don't, I think, entering The Coffee Place.

I look around and see that there is one man, around late thirties, typing away crazily on his laptop while gulping down his coffee at the same time. I look to the counter to see my best girl friend, Perrie, writing something down on a napkin. I smile to myself, realizing it's lyrics as I got closer. I read some, hovering over her before she notices:

Wishing is the wanting of my heart and soul,

And all I want to wish for is to own yours.

But you always look past my mind,

  To stare into anothers eyes.

"Wow, that's seriously good, Perrie," I say, meaning every word of it. She slightly jumps back and relaxes as she sees it's just me. She smiles, "Thanks Louis, but I don't think it's as good as you say it is." I roll my eyes at her as she shoves the napkin into her pocket and starts sweeping by the cappuccino machines.

Perrie and I have been best friends since I could remember. Our parents always thought we would end up together and get married, but that wouldn't really work out or happen since she's in love with our other best friend Zayn, and, you know, me liking guys. I remember introducing my mum to my ex boyfriend, Stan, and her freaking out at first.

Thankfully, she got used to it and now actually loves me being gay. She always tries to get me dates with her friends' sons, but I hate blind dates. Plus, it'll be awkward going on a date with a person your mum set you up with. And I also am sort of crushing on a certain someone. My mind comes back to reality as a mop of curly hair enters the shop. I couldn't help but smile to myself.
