Chapter 59:

*Gabbie’s p.o.v*

We go throughout the mall, Alice stopping pretty much in every store. She had to have spent at least $600. Trust me, I feel guilty and I know she shouldn’t be doing this; but let me just put it to you this way, nobody says no to Alice. We finally finish shopping, and by that time I am completely starving. I found that out when everybody heard my stomach growl and started to laugh. The flaws of being human, “I’m so sorry Gabbie, I completely forgot you need to eat” Alice says while laughing. We all get into the Volvo and we stop at McDonald’s on our way home. I pretty much swallow it all in one bite. Even I myself seem to forget that I am human sometimes.

We pull up into the driveway and I hop out, already seeing the guys grab our bags for us. I grab my dress and shoes before Edward can even see it. I wrap my shield around all the girls just to be safe, because I want this to be a surprise for Edward. I run up to my room quickly and I hide it in my gigantic closet. I head back downstairs and see Edward waiting for me, smiling as he sees me. I throw myself into his strong, cool arms and hug him tightly. He kisses the top of my head and says softly “Hello love, I missed you”; just hearing that sends goose-bumps throughout my body. “I missed you too” I say, tilting my head up and kissing him softly. “How was shopping?” he asks, a hint of amusement in his voice. I roll my eyes and scoff; did he really think I was going to give him a positive answer? “I am just glad we are all done” I say, sighing and sitting down on the couch. Edward sits down and pulls me into his lap, and out of instinct, I curl up against his chest.

We sit there and talk to the family about the whole pageant thing. I am still not so thrilled about it, but I guess I’ll do it to make everyone else happy. I mean who knows, I could possibly win? Edward doesn’t say much and neither do I. I listen and look around at my family as Edward runs his fingers through my hair softly and when he does this, it makes me start to fall asleep. Soon enough, I feel my eyelids get so heavy that I cannot keep them open any longer. I close my eyes and next thing I know, I’m off into a peaceful sleep.

*Next morning*

I wake up to hearing the birds chirping outside my window. I yawn and stretch my arms, feeling the cool arms that are wrapped around me tighten gently. I smile and open up my eyes to meet a pair of golden butter-scotch eyes. “Good morning beautiful” he says, smiling gently. All I can do is smile and I pull him close and give him a light kiss. I sit up in bed and throw the covers off; I stretch again and stand up. I look at the clock and it’s about 6:00, I have an hour to get ready for school. Edward kisses my forehead and leaves the room to go get ready as well. I sigh and head straight to the bathroom, hoping a shower will wake me up fully. I turn on the water and strip down to nothing, hopping in and letting the warm water hit my body. I turn on some music and start to sing along, especially to Luke Bryan. I’ve grown to be a very big fan of country music, especially Luke Bryan.

I jump out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel. I walk into the closet and look around to see what to wear. I grab a pair of dark washed skinny jeans and a white tank-top, grabbing my brown jacket and boots to go with it. I change into the clothes and slip on my watch along with my gold bracelet. To make things easier, I simply scrunch my hair and leave it naturally curly. I put on a little makeup because since I am half-vampire, I really don’t need a lot. I grab my bag and phone before heading downstairs. I quickly make my bed and turn off all my lights and head downstairs. Everybody was all downstairs waiting on me. I quickly grabbed a muffin and mumbled “let’s go” with my mouth full. Edward just laughed at me and followed me to his car. We got in along with Aubrey and Sammie in the back and we were off to school.

We get there in a matter of 5 minutes because Edward likes to drive insanely fast. I guess that’s the vampire in him. The problem is with school is that me and Edward cannot act like a couple, considering the fact that people think we are brother and sister. So I simply hug him and say goodbye, and walk to my locker with Aubrey and Landon who met up with Aubrey at school. We were talking about our classes and homework when I bumped into someone, sending them and their books to the floor. “Oh dear, I am so sorry” I say quickly, blushing and hurrying to help pick up their books. “Its fine I really wasn’t paying that much attention either” the girl says. Her face looks really familiar, I know I have seen her before and maybe even talked to her. “Hey, you’re Emma right? You’re new here?” I ask, looking at her face to make sure. She smiles and nods, her cheeks turning pink. “Yeah I am surprised you remember me, you’re Gabbie right?” I just smile and nod.  “I’m sorry but I really have to get to class, but do you want to talk at lunch?” she asks, her eyes looking at me hopefully. I smile at her and nod, “yeah of course, you can sit by me and my family at lunch. I’ll see you then” I wave goodbye and walk to my locker with Aubrey who was busy saying bye to Landon.

“Hey who was that?” Aubrey asks, being her nosy self. I just shrug my shoulders and say “A new girl, she’s going to sit by us at lunch”. Aubrey nods and doesn’t say much after that. I grab my books for my first 3 classes and close my locker. Aubrey and I walk to class together and we sit down in our assigned seats. All the teachers learned not to sit me and Aubrey together because all we will do is talk and distract the class, so me and her are separated in every class. I sit down and open up my notebook, waiting for the teacher to start his lesson. I don’t really have to pay attention because school just comes easy to me, and if I really do need help, all I do is ask Edward who is always willing to help. Finally, the teacher beings the lesson and I write down pretty much everything he says and copy down the homework that is due tomorrow. The bell rings and I close my notebook and pick up my books, waiting outside of the classroom for Aubrey. As we are walking down the hall I suddenly just froze, my eyes widening and jaw dropping. Aubrey looks to where my eyes are locked and gasps quietly. “She wouldn’t” she whispers. “She did” I say, barely audible. Tanya enrolled into our high school.

*I am going to leave it there because to be quite honest, I’m not sure what’s going to happen next myself. I’m really hoping to hear some comments from you guys because it really means a lot to get comments and votes. Hopefully this chapter has been better than my previous ones, considering the fact that I’ve gotten a little better at writing. Anyway, I am going to try and get another upload in for this story in the next 3 days. So stay tuned because I have a few tricks up my sleeve(; I love you all and I hope you enjoy this chapter.
