Song: 7 Rings by Ariana Grande
I glanced at the dark room. My eyes fastened on the gleaming gun that was pointed at the wall near me and the man behind it. "Dev?" I walked through the door and it shut with a resounding thud. I walked over to him, my curves concealed in tight black material. "Devan? What is it?" I wrapped a pale hand around his arm.
"Maybe you should leave Devine." He ground out and pulled the trigger. A shot rang out and the whistling thump of a bullet leaving the chamber cut the tension. A thud resounded the room and another whistle was sounded. Again and again. I winced as the bullets made their power known, thud after thud in the wall. Devan watched with cold, soulless eyes. "Here." He shoved a heavy black gun in my hands. The familiar feel of the cool metal against my hands made me shudder. I walked to the first space and Devan followed.
I cocked it and took a stance.
"Aim." He watched my movements. "Fire."
I squeezed the trigger and the gun sounded. Dead center.
"Move." He barked and I ran a bit. "Fire."
I stopped, aimed, and shot. I kept walking steadily, firing as I went. The power of the gun going off in my hands, mixed with the darkness of the room was filling my brain. The steadiness of my motions made me confident. Devan watched as I rolled and got on one knee. I aimed and fired.
I let the motions flow. I had trained for over four months with the army as a sniper, before I was discharged for injuries and when I was out I continued to keep my training up, Chris had made sure of it. Devan watched as I managed to hide and jump scare the machine that was supposed to fire things at me.
I handed him back the gun when I ran out of bullets. I walked off the inspect the rest of the guns on the wall. A sniper met my gaze and I gasped. It looked just like my old one. I grabbed it and twirled it, beautifully balanced and black as night. Fully loaded and perfect, I smirked as I holstered it to my back.
"Devine? How did you know how to best the system like that?" He walked to me with a smug smile.
"I trained with the Snipers for about five months."
"Kill count?" He asked as I looked at the others.
I grabbed two thigh holsters and two small compact guns as I turned to him. "Depends on what country you pissed off." I smiled as his eyes in surprise.
"Devine." He walked to me and forced my smug face to look at him. "I asked for your kill count."
"200."
"In 5 months?" He quirked a brow. He released me. "You know you sound a lot like someone."
"Who?" I jutted out a hip as I fixed my hair.
"Me." He grasped me by the throat. "But you know, I would have heard about you before now." He came closer as I gasped for air. "Who were you really?"
"Why don't you believe me?" I choked.
"Devine, silly girl. I have been watching you since you came back into the world 'mysteriously' on your 19th birthday." He leaned closer. "Crimson Killer ring a bell?" I gasped as he chuckled. "Clothed in black, the only thing known about this assassin was her blonde hair and crimson lips. Her black mask and hood stopped many from knowing her idenity and she was one of the most lethal weapons the USA welded against the Mafia." He leaned even closer and I swore softly under my breath. "A woman, with a vixen heart, and stealth that most work for years for, always winning." He took a breath. "Kill count. 200." His molten chocolate eyes were ice if that was possible and I laughed bitterly.
My mind was losing this match quickly and I let my face become my mask once more. "What's it to you Dev?" I snarled. "Can't handle me any more cause I was named a 'war goddess'?" Spite dripped from my crimson clad lips.
"Oh baby, I don't think you understand who you're toying with." He licked his lips and released my throat gently. I took a deep breath and touched the guns on my thighs. "Oh babe, you can stop with that. If I thought you were going to kill me I would have already killed you." His dark gravely voice rolled over me. "You won't kill me."
"What makes you think that?" I circled him. My heels clicking as we faced off. "What makes you think I won't tear that pretty little head off those broad shoulders?"
"Because, you are my newest weapon." He backed me slowly into another room.
"What?" I looked at him with furrowed brows and he threw me into a chair. He restrained me quickly. "You son of a -"
"Shhh." He cut me off gently. "Doctor, she is ready." He motioned to me. "Make her ruthless."
The short doctor nodded and shoved a mouth guard into my protesting mouth. I whimpered and Devan walked over to me. He smoothed my hair back.
"Oh my precious baby, you just couldn't help yourself could you?" He asked. I looked up at him pleadingly. "You will be mine and Mine alone after this." He promised. I snarled around the gag and the doctor injected something into my arm.
My mind whirled as the thoughts merged and left and merged again. Chris! My mind screamed. He loved us no matter what. He would still love us, even if Devan does something horrible to us. I needed a plan, but before I could do anything my world went black and intense pain filled my mind.
