Lost In The Game

I sat at the park while all the boys played a full court game. They even had lil groupies as cheerleaders on the sideline. I was in the bleachers focusing on the game. Everyone was talking about this being a rivalry game so I had to come out and watch. I liked watching the Lakers play on tv so this wasn't too far out of my comfort zone.

There was the white team which consisted of RaiShaun, Morgan, Corrion, Brandon, CJ, and Brody. CJ was only 12 years old so he just gave them water but he wanted badly to be on the team with RaiShaun. They reminded me of how Lil Saint was about Rico and vice versa.

The black team consisted of Kenny, James, Rodrick, Antonio, and Damien. I didn't know Damien that well but he was cool. While everyone else took this game seriously, Damien laughed about it all. His smile was pretty and contagious.

The score was tied at 37 and they were only going to 40. It was .34 seconds left on the clock. I stood in the bleachers as my nerves got bad. RaiShaun was my baby but Kenny was my first love.

I watched as RaiShaun guarded Kenny while Rodrick was trying to pass the ball to him. Rai'shaun pulled up his basketball shorts and bit down on his lip. Rodrick was finally able to give Kenny the ball without RaiShaun blocking it.

"Come on pussy, shoot the ball," RaiShaun taunted as Kenny dribbled the ball.

The crowd laughed at RaiShaun trashed talked. The laughing only made Kenny go harder. He turned and dribbled the ball faster, making the game speed up. Kenny crossed paths with Damien, blocking RaiShaun from guarding Kenny. Kenny passed the ball to James who was set up on the 3 point line. Brandon heavily guarded James, forcing him to throw the ball back to Kenny. Kenny went up to make the perfect three. That was until RaiShaun hopped up and smacked the ball down.

"Get that shit outta here boayyy," RaiShaun teased as Kenny gave him the bird. Rai'Shaun looked up and waved at me. Kenny noticed and bumped his shoulder "accidentally".

Brandon took the ball out, just as the clock started up. He threw the ball in towards Corrion who was being guarded by Antonio. Antonio was a good 5'10 while Corrion only stood at 5'3 but Corrion was faster.

The clock was down to 10 seconds and the entire white team was ganging up on Corrion. Corrion passed the ball to RaiShaun who was standing in the paint unguarded. Raishaun caught the ball mid-air and dunked it.

I didn't even realize I was biting my nail until my nail came off too far down. I looked around at the crowd. Most people were looking crazy because they were rooting for the black team. But the white team fans were jumping up and down and screaming.

I walked to the court and met up with Monique who was talking to Morgan. "Hey Myya," Morgan said acknowledging my presence.

"Hey. Nique, you coming over today?" I asked her avoiding eye contact.

"Until you can look at me and tell me a certain secret you've been keeping, no." Monique walked off. Morgan looked at me apologetically before following her.

I started to trail behind them until Jermaine blocked my path. "You stupid hoe! You gave me Chlamydia," he yelled causing a few people to turn around and stare.

"What are you talking about? I only fucked you once and you a quick pumper so it wasn't long," I snapped.

"I don't care how quick I came, you still gave me a disease. If all these people wasn't out here, I'd fucking kill you with my bare hands," he snapped back.
