"why did you lie to everyone?" hyuck asked the second that we got time alone. i sighed.
"it's so complicated." i shrugged, "now you know the truth. just" i stopped, looking away from his gaze, "don't tell the others...i wouldn't want anything to happen." he nodded and sat down in the chair across the room.
"jihye." he spoke softly.
"hmm."
"i," he took a deep breath, "i was so worried." he rolls his head back and supports it against the railing of the chair.
"i'm sorry." i started, "things with lucas ended i swear. and haechanie.." his eyes disappeared and a big smile came on his face as i called him the nickname. he hummed in amusement. "i-i like you." his head snapped back quick, the smile fading quickly and his eyes rather serious.
"say that again." he tilted his head, "my ears might be failing me."
"no i mean it, i like you." he stood up quickly and embraced me in a hug. i smiled.
"i like you too" he rested his forehead against mine. his lips were so close he was so close. i was in the hospital! was our first kiss gonna be in the hospital?!
his lips met mine so softly. a smile crept up on both of our faces as we stared at each other's eyes. letting our feelings loose. he was going to lean in for another kiss when someone at the door cleared their throat. both of our heads snapped towards the direction and i froze. hyuck stepping in front of me as if to protect me
"so this is why you called it quits?" his voice was bitter and i heard the click of his tongue.
"leave her alone." donghyucks voice was low almost a growl. lucas scoffed.
"as if a little weakling like you could do something." his voice showed anger, "i hope you like my leftovers." and with that he left.
ouch that stung a little. i was definitely not leftovers. i watch donghyuck tense and i quickly grabbed his arm to stop him from chasing lucas down the hall.
"it's not worth it." i spoke calmly and as reassuring as possible. "it's not worth it."
