   Hey readers,
I'm so glad I've been writing chapters recently, and hopefully you're enjoying them! I've been in an RE mood due to the new remake, and I'm completely hooked. Already finished the game twice for Leon and Claire, and I'm so blown away by the details and altered story. I definitely recommend purchasing it, it's worth every penny. ❤️

"Ugh! What the fuck is that thing!"

         "I don't know, but I don't like the way it's twitching!"

They huddled closer, backing deeper into the small room as their shoulders pressed together, the shaking monster shuffling bit by bit. It's mouth gaped like a dying fish, allowing a distorted noise to escape. (F/n) could feel her fear rise, making it hard to look at the frightful creature. It's red eyes followed their every move, piercing through the dim room like the laser visible on Leon's Blacktail, not blinking due to it's lidless features. He shoots once, the head blowing off, only for it to grow back a few seconds later.

"Fuck! Shooting it won't help, we gotta run around it, (f/n)!"

Leon grabs her hand, tugging her along as they dodge the monster and run back to the main hall they came from. Unfortunately, another one cuts them off, making them trapped from both sides.

"Shit, these things have to have a weakness," (F/n) says in a rush, afraid to take her view away from the situation at hand.

Her partner thinks quick, aiming his Blacktail again, but this time, he shot the pale being's leg.

      "Go!"

They use this tactic on one more, running straight into an unlocked freezer that contained miscellaneous junk, and stored lifeless monsters that dangled from the icy ceiling.

"Well, this isn't too bad," (F/n) laughs, clinging to herself to conserve as much heat as she can in the freezing room.

Leon laughs along, but not entirely from her response. He could see her shaking from the cold- and he swears her teeth were clattering away. With no words, he brings her close, practically hugging the smaller girl to keep her warm.

"That better? Stay close to me, I'll keep you toasty," his reply soft, but playful.

They walk in a synchronized pattern, figuring out the various tasks to move along their mission. After a couple of minutes, a loud click echoes, and a familiar sound follows right after. Leon takes out his rifle, switching the scope for the newest addition to his collection.

"Hey, I could see his weaknesses now! Cover your ears, this is going to be loud."

(F/n) nods, placing her heated hands over her ears just in time. She flinches as the gun fires, barely muffling the loud release of the bullet as it hits its mark. This continues for a few more rounds until the thing collapses and the door opens again.

"Glad to know these things can die, I was getting concerned."

They exit, killing off the leftover beasts and move on to a foul-smelling room that gave them the chance to remove enemies below.

"Ashley, don't worry," Leon observes the door lock, looking for the kind of access they'll need," We'll get you out of there."

He turns, peering to a mysterious door that they passed briefly.

"We need a card for access, that door must lead to it," he confidently connects.
