“You called this meeting?” He looked at me with uncertainty “You don’t look like the type to call this meeting” He grabbed a cigar from the box the young girl was presenting him with

“That’s the problem with you men, you think appearance counts. I’m a woman and there’s nothing more insulting to you than having me sit at the table?” I looked at him

“It’s not that you’re a woman, it’s that you are playing a game you will never win” He took a drag and puffed the smoke subtly

“Who said I will never win?” I looked at him. I really looked at him. There was so much of his brother in him

“You are wasting my time, I don’t have time for your games”

“Yes, you do Francesco. You can try and convince the bosses out there that you’re the mafia, that you own half of the city and that the Delcarlo empire is now yours, but we both know that Maximillian is still alive and well, Your dear brother still holds a majority of the asset and half of the men out here can’t trust you” I poured the tea in the cup and added one cube of sugar

“I could say the same thing Ms Longard, You know family is everything to these men you’re so quick to under mind, Why am I here again?” He asked me with less pleasantness but rather in a threatened manner

“You need me, Your coffee trade is falling and you’re losing capital” He answered to that with a hearty laugh

“The only thing I’m losing is my time” He pushed himself off the chair and made a real attempt on leaving

“Oh and I have last shipment of valuables from the port” I looked at him turn around with fury in his eyes

“Listen here you little half bred bitch, I am not my brother or my father” He slammed his hands on the table and in the process grabbed a knife “I will make you beg for your life, You know nothing of the business we carry out and you are fooling yourself to think that you have any power Taylor Longard, You’re a symptom in this whole operation and I swear you don’t want to feel the toll of the actual flu”

His eyes bulging and his veins almost popping on his neck. His men had all pointed their weapons at my men who was pointing weapons at him for attempting to threaten me.

“Meeting tonight, Old Docks. Try not to threaten me then, because living will not be the bone you’d want me to throw you, you’ll be one begging to die”

I grabbed my coat from the boy who was standing by the door with it and flung it over my shoulders, I pulled open the umbrella to shield me from the storm that was brewing up.

I don’t think I sleep anymore. Some may say it’s a fable, but I am who I am known as; La sombra de la meurte. I am not death but rather the shadow that comes with it. He is a man, but I am a woman. They say eve was the bringer of sin to the world yet they neglect to acknowledge how eve tempted him to eat the fruit of knowledge, if there was some precedence to how long it took for Adam to see the light then it can be argued that women are more powerful and knowledgeable by seconds if not minutes.
