Jennifer.

He caught up with me in a matter of seconds, making me quiver with fear. I was barely holding back the tears that threatened to fall.

"Oh you aren't going anywhere hot stuff...I've been pining for you ever since I first laid my hands on you. And you came back to me again. Did you miss me that much, silly fool?" His words shook me to the bone.

I screamed, as loud as I could.

Rage clouded his face and he struck me hard. I felt a drop of blood roll down the side of my lip.

Right then...I heard the faint sound of a car coming to a halt. A flicker of hope played inside me. But before I could scream again, I was roughly pushed against the wall. He clamped my mouth shut tightly with his hands and I felt helpless yet again.

Suddenly, a silhouette made its way towards the alleyway. The masculine figure stopped a few feet away from us. With a racing heart, I raised my terrified eyes to his face...

Jason.

Her glance was pleading. It was scared. It was helpless. It was heartbreaking...

I didn't wait a second more. I stormed over to where he had her pinned to the wall, grabbed the bastard by the collar of his shirt and threw him to the ground. I started punching him repeatedly, alternating between his face, his chest, and his head. I didn't give him a chance to resist. I wanted to hurt him. Slowly. Painfully.

He tried to sit up, his nose bleeding profusely. He pushed a finger beneath it, to slow it down. He was a mess. And damn, it was the most beautiful mess I'd ever seen.

"How dare you?!" I roared. "How dare you lay a finger on my girl?!"

"Why pretty boy? Want her all to yourself, huh? We can share her, I don't mind" he smiled dazedly, blood between his teeth.

"If you ever touch her again, I will kill you."

"That a threat?"

"No...it's a promise."

With that, I sucker punched him one last time. It was quite a blow let me tell you, because his body dropped limply to the ground.

But the worst part was that beating him up still wasn't enough. When I was sure I'd knocked him out, I stood up panting and wiped the angry beads of sweat off my forehead.

And then I turned around to look at Jennifer...

Jennifer.

Jason's eyes met mine and without hesitating, I ran into his arms. He engulfed me in a gentle embrace and a small sob escaped my lips.

"Shhh...you're okay. It'll be okay," he whispered.
"How will it be okay?" I asked desperately.
"Jennifer," he said weakly, as I bawled my eyes out. "Don't cry. I can't bear it."
"What makes you think I can?" I cried, holding on to his shirt as if my life depended on it.

For a while, he just let me cry. He didn't say anything, just caressed my hair, trying to calm me down. And then he pulled away with a concerned look on his face. "Are you hurt? Your lip is bleeding." He stated.

I ignored his question and remembered how my heart had skipped a few beats when he'd said I was his girl. After everything that had happened, he still thought me worthy enough to be called his?

"It's okay Jenny, shhh..."

He found me. He saved me! If he hadn't shown up the way he did...
