I woke up feeling rested, then I remembered where I was. I got up and started to get ready to leave. And right as I was about to fit in! I thought to myself. I put my camp tshirt on and some jean capris. I put my half blond half brown hair into a fishtail braid. I grabbed my satchel bag and walked back to my bunk to see Isabella. I walked over there and she wasn't there. It was strange. I hadn't talked to her since I got my short sword.
The horn blew for breakfast and I ran to the pavilion. I sat down at my lonely table and started to eat my usual pancakes. I sat alone for awhile until Braxdon waved for me to come sit next to him. I know I wasn't supposed to, but I was tired of sitting alone. I picked up my plate and sat down next to him.
"What's up?" I said.
"Not much. Just wanted to hang out before you have to leave." I shifted uncomfortably remembering about the prophecy.
"So is your arm any better?" I smirked remembering the capture the flag when it happened.
"Yeah, I should get my cast off tomorrow." We talked for awhile until we where done eating. "Come on! I want to show you something!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the pavilion. He dragged me over to the edge of the forest.
"What are we doing here?" I asked a little frustrated.
"Isabella! Daryl!" Braxdon shouted and Isabella and Daryl came out from the trees. Isabella was holding four watches. She handed them out to all for of us.
"What are these?" I asked.
"Watches. We are able to talk to each other through these. Kind of like a group chat." I slipped my watch on while Isabella explained.
"So this is why I haven't seen you and Daryl much?"
"Yeah. We had the Hephaestus cabin help us out."
"But I didn't know about the quest until yesterday afternoon."
"I had a feeling you would be leaving soon." Said Isabella. I hugged her and smiled. I was going to miss my friends so bad. They were the best friends I've ever had. No one had been so welcoming and kind. We all walked back to the Argo 2. The seven were already there waiting for me. Most of the demigods were there to send us off. My bags were loaded into my new cabin. I gave Isabella, Daryl, and Braxdon one last hug before I walked on with the others.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention once important detail. Apparently we needed a chaperone for this little quest. Our chaperone was Coach Hedge. I had never met him, but I had heard stories. Apparently he was a satyr, previous PE teacher/ chaperone for the giant war. I also heard he was super violent and slightly psycho. Yeah so... That didn't help.
"Let's bid our heroes good luck and good bye." Chiron stood in front of all the campers. We all waved as Leo put the sail up and we set off. I walked into my cabin with all my stuff instead of a bed there was a hammock. I smiled. I loved hammocks. At my house we had four hammocks in the backyard. We would all go out with some lemonade and swimsuits and play in the sprinklers and lay in hammocks. I had a "window" which was a video screen that showed live feed from camp half blood. I put my clothes in my drawers and my sword in a dresser by my hammock. I headed out to talk to the others on the deck.
"Hey guys!" I said as I walked up. Leo was up messing with his controls. Annabeth and Percy were sitting near the edge. Hazel and Frank were talking by the mast. Jason and Piper were talking to a short stout satyr with a big club. I assumed that was Coach Hedge. I walked over to them so that I could introduce myself.
"Hello. I'm Raini." I said. The short man looked up at me. I looked down. I was considerably tall for my age.
"What do you want cupcake?" He snorted.
"Just wanted to introduce myself."
"Pfft. Don't cause me any trouble, and we'll get along just fine." He maybe short but I definitely didn't want to be on his bad side. I wasn't afraid it was more like I didn't want him to go all mental on me. I walked away and headed over to Leo. I hadn't gotten to spend much time with him.
"Hey Leo! What's up?"
"Not much. Setting coordinates for Kansas. So where exactly in Kansas do you live?"
"Hutchinson, Kansas. Not very well known."
"Okay... And done! We've set sail for Hutchinson, Kansas!" Leo shouted to everyone.
"So what do we do now?" I asked. I hope we didn't just sit around. I got bored really easily. I couldn't sit for very long.
"Well we might do some training or discuss plans. With a group of demigods you never know." I laughed. He was right. Being a demigod I had no idea what would happen. As far as I know my little brothers could turn out to be Pegasus and then we would all ride them to Greece and then fight giants with pepperoni pizza! Okay that might be a little far fetched. But still!
"So what did you do after kindergarten?" I asked.
"Well. My mom died in- in a fire." His eyes shifted. I knew it was a touchy subject. "After that I moved around a lot. Foster homes ran away. Boarding schools. Then I met Piper, Jason and Coach. What about you?"
"Well we only lived in Texas a year. After you left we moved back to my hometown in Kansas. I went to school. Never got kicked out, but I've been a trouble maker. Six teachers quit because of me. But my mom convinced them not to expel me. I rode horses on our farm. Still like building little things from time to time. I have two little brothers now. And now you know my dad and the whole demigod thing."
"Yeah, I understand. I wish I stayed at that school. Would have gotten kicked out anyways." I laughed. I probably would have too! "So I want to lighten the mood around here, but I need your help!"
"Are you suggesting a prank?" I smiled at him.
"For old times sake?"
"Sure!" I had no idea what he had up his sleeve, but it was gonna be good!
