A Sophitz Fanfiction

~Chapter 3~

Physically I was ready, emotionally well no. I tried to picture all the different ways he could react but only today would tell how he really would. I kept asking myself to back out of it but I knew no matter how much I wanted to I owed him this much. 

"Sophie?" His crisp accented voice filled my head. I loved hearing that voice no matter how worried I was of seeing him. 

"Sophie, why are you worried?" Fitz asked but then added, "actually tell me when I come over but are you ready?"

"Yeah I'm ready" I replied, not sure whether I was or not. I heard a knock on the door and I ran downstairs as fast as I could. I opened the door, there he was. 

"Hey Sophie" He came over to give me a hug, I don't think he'll want to anymore after I tell him. I grab his hand and we walk over to Calla's Panakes tree. 

"So how did the matchmaking office go? When are you going to pick up yo-" He stopped when he saw the look on my face. "What's wrong Sophie?" He was so cute even when he was worried. 

"Fitz, when I went there everything was going great, until" I stopped because he grabbed my hand and held it. 

"Oh sorry I just want to let you know that whatever happens, I'll stay by your side, but keep going" I nodded and squeezed his fingers slightly, I liked holding his hand, I just hope after today he would still let me.  

"Well I answered all of their questions, and on the screen, i-i-i-it said Sophie Elizabeth Foster is unmatchable." My body shook with a sob but I refused to stop telling the story, "I know y-y-you want to keep your last name honored if you don't want to be with me then that's fine, I-I-I understand." I dropped his hand and looked away, he just sat there stunned for a moment so I tried to get up and walk away. 

"Sophie I don't care about the stupid match, I want it to be you and you like me and I like you it's all up to us to make the most out of if. Plus with the Neverseen constantly trying to kill us wouldn't you feel sad if something happened to one of us? Because I know I would Sophie I really like you" we both blushed then he continued, "I want to be with you so so bad, Sophie Foster will you be my girlfriend?" He took a deep breath and looked into my eyes for so long I thought he was reading my mind. His eyes slowly started to change, from pure love to pain. 

"But if you like someone else and want to be with them then that's fine too." we lost eye contact but I still responded.

"Fitz I do really like you too and yes I'll be your girlfriend sorry it took so long, I just had to keep telling myself it wasn't a dream." I hesitated a beat then smiled and gave him a really long hug. I didn't care if Grady was watching me from outside because I needed this, I really did. 

"Well, you know what we have to do now?" Fitz asked shyly. 

"What?" I asked, I'd never been in a relationship before so I didn't know.

"This."

And then he kissed me.
