BACKSTORY
here's a small backstory, since in
"00: tennessee" it'll be starting off right at season three episode one. so i thought, to clear confusion, or anything of the sort... i'd give a small recap/back story

Eleanor Forbes, is the fraternal twin sister to Caroline Forbes, except she's still human while Caroline is a vampire.

At the end of season two, damon had gotten bitten by tyler, and so as an effort to save damon... eleanor went with stefan to negotiate with klaus. at first she wasn't supposed to go with them after they'd made the deal, but eleanor knew she couldn't leave stefan alone with klaus. she worried he'd fall too far when he'd been doing so well. so she went with them, only to help stefan.

at first, Eleanor, couldn't stand klaus but as time went on through the summer, it wasn't as uncomfortable and suffocating. so she actually, began to like him and vice versa. she still wasn't all forgiving for him killing (yet at the same time not) her best friend, she let it go slightly, since she knew elena was safe.

Eleanor and Caroline were slightly similar, although Eleanor could/can be more blunt about her feelings and more witty than Caroline is.
