"DEAR GOD," Eleanor sighed, rubbing a hand down her face as she stood beside Damon in front of the jail cell. "He's a suspect?"

"He is right here!" Alaric exclaimed, exasperated. He'd been taken in the night before as a suspect to all the recent council murders that'd been taking place within Mystic Falls. He placed his hand on one of the bars that separated the three, just as the sheriff came in.

"Mom, why is he here? How is he a suspect?" Eleanor quickly asked her mother. Who, only gave her a look before looking towards the two other adults. As she began explaining, the blonde felt pity for her history teacher as he began pacing around the cell.

He groaned as she finished explaining, coming back towards the bars and looking towards Liz with pleading, truthful eyes. "I didn't do it!"

"You're arresting him for what this nut job, Dr. Fell says?" Damon asked the sheriff in disbelief.

"No, I'm detaining him. The cell is for his own good. You were shot; Dr. Fell used vampire blood to heal you."

"Dr. Fell is the one that shot me!" Alaric exclaimed.

"Because you came at her with a knife!" Liz retorted, with slight wide eyes.

"Yeah, with a knife I had found hidden in her things!"

"Are we going to ignore the part where he is one of the killers victims?" Eleanor asked, looking towards her mother with crossed arms and furrowed brows. "I mean, the guy was practically stabbed to death!"

"Well," Liz started with a sigh. "Dr. Fell suggested his wounds could have been self-inflicted."

"You think I stabbed myself?" Alaric gawked in disbelief at the sheriff, as he ran a hand down his face.

"Look, I think I don't know what to think. I've got nothing, except murder weapons from your stash and a respected member of a founding family, pointing a very long finger."

"She is setting me up! I'm being framed here!" Alaric insisted.

Eleanor didn't believe any one of Merediths thoughts about what Alaric could be doing. She knew who her friend was, and of course, with Damon's complete and consistent judgements of Meredith Fell, Eleanor had started to untrust/dislike the woman as well. The fact that Alaric was being accused of being the one that'd stabbed her own father, was a hard pill to swallow. Meredith was wrong. She had to be.
