The Summer of '12

Girls, girls, girls.

I try to shake my head again and again. I can't believe it was her.

It was Maegan Parker.

She was on a date with a guy who i know so well. He was my cousin! His name was Bryce Andrews. I never doubted that girls wouldn't like him back. He was a gentleman, football player and long boards. He has black, shaggy hair, these round big black eyes and a nice body. (I've seen him workout, no kidding) Bryce spots me and tells Maegan that we're right behind her. Good thing Tyler ain't here. Maegan turns to see me, stands up and goes to our table. I get up and hug her. The thing is, me and Maegan are good friends. Best friends actually. It's just good that Tyler dosen't have a problem with that. ''Maegan! You look beautiful.'' i say looking at her from head to toe. She's wearing a light pink cocktail dress with a bit of sparkle on the ends. No wonder Bryce likes her, she's so pretty. They just might be the perfect two. ''Thank you. You too!'' she says pulling me into another hug. Before she lets go, she whispers. ''He's the guy i've been telling you about.'' then lets go. I freeze there shocked. She was talking about my cousin the whole time? I should've known better. I return to the moment and smile. ''I'm so happy for you!' i say. I look at the table and remember that Natalie and Eric were there. I completely forgot. I sit down and look at Maegan. ''Oh i forgot to tell you. This is Natalie Reid, Tyler's girlfriend'' i say drifting.

Oh crud. Ex, meet the girl who replaced you. Natalie looks at Maegan and smiles. ''Oh hi.'' says Maegan. Maegan looks at her left and sees Eric quiet and looking at the table. ''Hey! I didn't see you there!'' she says hugging Eric from his seat. Eric smiles. ''Where's Tyler?'' she asks. ''Oh he went to get something.'' answers Natalie. ''Oh okay. Well, i guess I'll see you guys around.'' she says waving to all three of us. Me and Eric smile back. Eric looks at me. ''Whoa, she's prettier than ever. Who's the guy she's dating?'' ''Bryce Andrews. My cousin!'' i say smirking.

When dinner was served, Maegan and Bryce leave. Thank God Tyler wasn't able to see them. After a few minutes, Xavier and Tyler arrive. Xavier sits next to me and Tyler next to Natalie. They both put a box on top of the table. Xavier opens the box and i see a necklace. All what i could think of was how i wanted this moment to freeze. Again.

After dinner, we all say good night to each other. But before we could leave, Eric calls a bunch of girls from his phone. So we had to wait for those girls to arrive. ''Where exactly are you going?'' i ask him looking at my watch. It's not late though, the night's still young. ''Somewhere.'' he says. After a few minutes the girls arrive. One of them were in a black cocktail dress and the other was wearing a loose top and shorts. Eric puts his arms around both of them, tucks his shirt out and walks the other way. ''See you guys later.'' he says looking back. ''What just happened?'' Natalie asks.''Night out. He's always like that, baby.'' says Tyler going to his car. ''Oh.'' says Natalie blushing. ''Goodnight!'' i say to both Tyler and Natalie. ''Night!'' they both say back. ''Come on, I'll bring you home.'' says Xavier with his husky voice.

As Xavier turns on the car and puts the head lights on, i see a girl walk in front of me.
