“You see; my father is Morpheus. I can make people sleepy even if I didn’t mean to. Sorry about that. I just started talking and you’ve already yawned for ten times already.”  Travis said as he gave me a glass of juice.

“No, it’s fine but I really hope you can control that.”  I yawned again.

“I am already controlling it, actually. Let’s get started. Back then, when your grandparents were still ruling the kingdom Thales, my father was assigned to be one of their protectors, and I don’t know how that happened though. He probably was assigned to interpret and control dreams.”  He paused to look at me, “Do you want a cup of dark coffee instead? Or do you want to go out so my powers won’t be this powerful?”

“I don’t drink coffees so yeah, let’s get out of here.”

Travis nodded and grabbed a couple of keys.  He led me out of the house and I was already facing a different scene, totally far from where I live.

“Where are we?”  I asked.

“We are in Scotland.”

“Wow. Scotland, I’ve always wished to come here.”

“You’re already here, Camille. See, I granted your wish.”  He led me to a small car and opened the door for me.

“So where are we going?”

“The cemetery.”

“Cemetery?”

“Yup, it’s pretty peaceful there. Don’t worry, the sun is still shining and those ghost stories are not really true.”

“So those are sort of true.”

“Well, yeah. I guess?”

We reached our destination.  The cemetery doesn’t look so creepy nor felt creepy.  We picked a bench to sit on.  I inhaled the fresh air and said, “Let’s start.”

“Okay. My father had so many children, which are demigods because well, he had a couple of relationships with humans. That’s normal for gods by the way. I mentioned that your mother is a demigod too right? Her father wasn’t the king, it my father.”  Travis explained.

“That means you two are…”

Travis nodded, “She’s my stepsister. We aren’t really close though but we talked a couple of times before. She seemed to have a different power; she can dream about the future. She left me this locket; she told me to give it to her daughter when the right time comes. It seems special but I don’t know if it does something. It’s up to you to find it out now.”  He placed the locket on my palm.  The locket was simple but really nice.  The chain hung from my hand as I observed the locket.  It was heart-shaped and clean, as if it had never been touched.  I closed my palm and kept the locket in my secret pocket in my pants.

“Thank you.”

“The king didn’t know about it until when your mother reached high school. The queen told him about the Morpheus thing. The king was outraged; he immediately fired Morpheus. The king was really faithful; he didn’t have any other wives. That is why the king disliked your mother; he didn’t really care when she eloped with your father.”

“What are the Kylras?”

“Kylras, I really don’t know. They are new or undiscovered species. Hephaestus is still trying to research about it. Hermes will keep us updated. We’ll try to find your mother; she seemed to be in a big trouble. There’s a big possibility that she’s abducted by the Kylras.”

“How can I help?”

"You will continue investigating about your mother with your brother. You’ll also be trained to use your powers.”

“I have powers?”

“Of course, you’re the granddaughter of Morpheus. How can you not have powers?”  He smirked.

“Thank you, Travis.”  I smiled and looked at him.

“No problem. By the way, here’s your shoe.”  He handed me a shoe from his bag.

“Oh, you got it. Thank you.”  Our eyes locked together.  His eyes are different.  It feels like they have a spell.  A spell that can make people fall.  How can he do this?  Is this one of his works?  His magical powers are powerful when it comes to looking straight at his face.  His face neared my face; I didn’t move because I was too stunned.  His face seemed so perfect.  It feels like I can look through his heart.

I feel like I’m looking at a perfect being.  I feel like I can feel what he can feel, what he had been through.

“I’ve tried falling for other girls but I can’t find happiness in them. Something kept me from loving them. It’s like I have a mission to complete. It’s like I need to find a specific girl. Now that I found you, can you be my friend?”  His face was so near and I can feel his breath.

My heart skipped a beat; I thought he was going to ask some life and death question.  “Sure. Why not?”

“Thank you, Camille. At last, first mission complete. There are more missions to come and you are going to complete them with me.”

He’s so sweet.  Oh, Camille, stop it.  You have a boyfriend at the moment, who just cheated on you.  You can’t have revenge by doing the same thing.  Talk to Kaleb first before anything else.  That way, you’ll have a clean conscience.
