It's been awhile since Lindsay and Kayla ate together at the Bowl. Lindsay won't speak to Kayla. Kayla has tried to text her at least twenty times....she's finally given up.
"Mom, it's pointless. She's not going to answer."
"Kayla, honey, you can't give up. She's your best friend. I won't allow you to give up on her. You go over to her house tonight, okay? Talk to her. Bring out the Lindsay that you and I both know is in there. Somewhere..."
Her moms voice trailed off. The truth was, Kayla had no idea why Lindsay was acting this way. Did Kayla scare her when she couldn't move? Kayla thought that was probably the answer. Heck, Kayla scared herself! She decided she was going to go over to Lindsay's house tonight, like her mom wanted her to. She had no idea what would happen, but she knew she had to try.
She left the house at 3, and made it to Lindsay's by 3:30. She rang the door bell with a shaky finger.
"Breathe, Kayla." She thought to herself. "It's only Lindsay."
Lindsay's mom Sharon answered the door.
"Oh, hey Kayla! It's been awhile since you came over!" Sharon said, nervously looking over her shoulder. Kayla had a feeling that Lindsay told her about the Bowling Alley inccident.
Kayla looked past Sharon. She'd thought she saw something move. That's when she noticed her. Lindsay was standing on the staircase behind the kitchen table, watching Kayla and Sharon talk. She was stalking them! She was making Sharon this nervous! Kayla couldn't believe how insane Lindsay was acting.
"Lindsay. What's wrong with you? What did I even do? Tell me, right now! I am having such a hard time. I need someone -- no. I need you to help me get through this --" she choked up thinking about him. "-- this Caiden stuff."
Just like that, Lindsay flew upstairs. Sharon gasped. And Kayla pushed Sharon down to get to Lindsay before she shut and locked her door. She almost made it. They were having a door fight. Lindsay, on the inside, what trying to shut it, and Kayla, on the outside, was trying to open it. Kayla won. She got so mad that she used all of her might, and it opened so hard it smacked the wall.
"LISTEN TO ME LINDSAY!" Kayla screamed, full of fury. "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS, BUT YOU BETTER STOP. I NEED....I need you, Lindsay. I need, you."
