Shopping with her mom was very fun to Kayla. They went to all of her favorite stores, got cupcakes, and went to a nice Italian restraunt.
"Kayla, it's been so nice to see you, the real you, come back again." Her mom said while they were eating at the Italian restraunt.
"You know mom...it feels okay to be back. I'm debating if I wanna go to school tomorrow or not. Do I wanna face them?" She asked.
Did she? Did she want to face them? She couldn't decide.
"Kayla, go to school. Learn. Make new friends, if you have to. But Kayla I am not going to let three little brats ruin your life! Just ignore them! Honey, you are such a good person. I can't stand to see this happen to you." She said.
Kayla giggled sadly. "Mom, that's what you don't understand. There's no point of making new friends if I'm just going to leave in a month!"
"Kayla there's always a reason to make a new friend or two. Even if we are moving, you can always Skype or text. And, we're planning to make many, many visits to Moweaqua to visit the family." Her mom said.
"Let's just go back to eating." Kayla said, ending the subject.
The next day, Kayla gathered the strength to go to school. When lunch rolled around, Kayla got in the lunch line and got her lunch tray. She sat next to Hailey Nicholson at the lunch table, and enjoyed herself for a change.
Until it happened.
Hailey and Kayla were giggling away, when they decided to return their lunch trays to the cooks.
"Haha! No, no Taylor Lautner is MY husband! Haha!" Kayla said to Hailey as they walked up to the cooks.
"Haha! But he's my-- Kayla, jerks at one o'clock." Hailey said.
"Oh, hi Kayla." Pria said.
Kayla looked at the floor. She kept walking by. Until she realized she was face first in a bowl of mashed potatoes.
It was only after she sat up that she realized what had happened. Pria had tripped her right into her lunch tray.
She looked up. She saw Pria hugging Caiden while they both laughed. She looked behind them, and there was Lindsay, standing there half-smiling.
"Wh-...why..." Was all Kayla could say.
"You low life, good for nothing jerks!" Kayla heard Hailey yell. "I can't believe you did this to her!"
Kayla felt a tug at her arm. It was Hailey helping her up.
"Come on, Kay. Let's get you to the nurse." Hailey said once Kayla got on her feet.
Kayla looked at the three of them. She still could hardly process what was happening. By now, Lindsay was apart of the uncontrollable laugh fest. Maybe it was a good thing that she was moving.
"Lindsay, after all I've don't for you, you do this? What happened to....to my best friend?" Kayla asked. "What's wrong with you!" Kayla yelled. She shoved Pria, just enough to where she bumped into Caiden, the boy she still loved.
When Hailey and Kayla reached the nurses staition, the nurse was stunned at the sight of them. Kayla could imagine how silly they looked: a girl about 5'4, supporting a girl about 5'6 whose face was covered with mashed potatoes and tears, not to mention how blotchy her face got when she cried.
"My, my. What do we have here?" The nurse said, a sympathetic look on her face. "Let's get you cleaned up, shall we?"
Kayla locked arms awkwardly with the nurse as the walked over to the sink. She rinsed to potatoes off her face with a rag and fixed her running makeup. She fixed her hair, which looked crazy from the fall to the floor.
"Hun, might you tell me your parents name and phone number? I need to call someone to discuss this with. Wait--what happened?" The nurse asked Kayla.
"Pria Marie tripped me into my lunch tray. On purpose. And then I shoved her a little, but not enough to hurt. Basically a pat..." Kayla said. "Oh and my moms name is Lilly Patterson, and her number is 555-012-6357."
"Oh my. Well sit here. Are you well enough to go back to class? Or do you need you mom to pick you up?" The nurse said, again sympatheticly.
"I need to go home." Kayla said.
And so she did.
