narrator's pov:

zach and chloe met up at chloe's favorite cafe called coffeeville. they're meeting up because they both know something that nobody else does.

two weeks earlier...

"well, it was their first kiss," jonah pointed out.

"yeah, but it wasn't ours," sadie mumbled, smirking.

"what did you say?" jonah chuckled, playing dumb.

"i said, it wasn't our first kiss," sadie said.

"yup, and speaking of us, when are we going to tell everyone else?" jonah whispered.

"when the time is right," sadie decided, "but, for right now, nobody needs to know that we're secretly together."

"you heard them too, right?" zach asked.

"yeah, my music wasn't playing loud enough to cancel any other noises," chloe replied.

they both took sips from their drinks.

"i'm just curious why they're not telling anyone. like, what's the worst possible outcome of them dating?" chloe asked.

the two sat there in silence, and thought.

"well, you would expect that they would tell all of us, but maybe it's also because our schools are rivals?" zach suggested.

"oh, please, when we all met each other, we forgot our schools were rivals," chloe scoffed.

"well, all of us forgot, but not the rest of our schools. chloe, our schools hate each other. people would be upset if sadie and jonah were dating," zach explained.

"wow, you're right," chloe said.

"we just need to find a way for them to tell the people they trust," zach declared.

"which is all of us," chloe added.

after a while of thinking, chloe came up with a huge plan.

"it's kind of crazy, but it'll work," chloe said.

"true, but isn't it a bit much?" zach asked.

"well, i'm just acting. we'll figure out a day to do it," chloe remarked, "but, first, can you take some pictures of me?"

zach rolled his eyes, but laughed, "okay, fine, i can't say no to you."
