Narrator's POV

(Y/N) sat on the main deck, facing the sea. She was painting the seascape, blissfully unaware of the rest of the crew.

That, of course, was until Luffy miscalculated a gum-gum slingshot and sent (Y/N) flying into the sea.

Before blacking out from the blow, she took notice of how beautiful things look with the sun shining into the deep blue.

"Luffy you idiot! Someone go get her!!" Nami rushed over to the railing.

Luffy ran over as well after Zoro jumped in to save her. When Zoro came back up, Chopper started treating her immediately. Luffy insisted on helping Chopper; after all, he was the cause of this...

(Y/N)'s POV

I woke up in my cabin, with a slight pain in my head.

"I need you to promise me that you'll make sure she lays down and relaxes. If she wakes up don't let her get up, under ANY circumstances. I'll be back later to check up on her." Chopper warned a mystery person about my condition.

"Sure thing!"

Luffy.

I tried to sit up but was immediately forced back down by none other than my captain.

"Lay down (Y/NN), doctor's orders."

I protested, "I need to paint what I saw, I'll forget it if I don't paint it soon..!"

I threw my legs over the edge of the bed, surprising myself at how close I had put my face to Luffy's.

Narrator's POV

A blush spread across her face, she had just inadvertently put her face inches away from the guy of her dreams.

Luffy was oblivious to the tinge of red that dominated her face and lifted her legs back into the bed.

"(Y/N), I can't let you leave. I don't want you to get hurt.."

(Y/N) was stubborn though, and you wouldn't want to get in the way of her passion. She tried to scooch to the end of the bed to make a run for it but this plan was thwarted by Luffy. This time to make sure she didn't try to get up again, he straddled her just above her hips and pinned her hands down.

"Chopper said not to let you stand..! I'm not going to risk your health because I was careless."

An intense blush invaded her face at the position she was in. They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity to (Y/N).

She thought the silence would never end.

Though he broke it with a question, "(Y/N)? Why does my stomach feel funny when I'm around you?"

(Y/N) was slightly shocked. "Does he mean that he feels butterflies around you?"

Luffy interrupted her thoughts as he spoke again, "What does it mean? Do you feel the same way?"

(Y/N) opened and closed her mouth, trying to formulate a response.

"Uhm, Do you like spending time with me?"

Luffy smiled and nodded quickly, "Spending time with you makes me happy, even when we aren't really doing anything. Just being near you makes me smile."
