"Hey Erin. A Chase Wilson called for you a little while ago." Mum informs me as I soak the door shut behind me. My schoolboy slips through my surprised fingers. " what did he say? "
"He wants you to call him back.... Is he your boyfriend?"
" What! No! He's just a friend mum."
"Sure,sure. Whatever you say honeybunch." I walk away from my teasing mum and into the kitchen where the phone is. On a post it note is a number and Chase's name. With shaking fingers I pick up the phone and call the number.
Chase picks up on the first ring. "Erin?" His voice seems uncertain, wary.
" Yeah? "
"Are you ok?"
" Fine,why? " His worry confused me. What's happened?
"Listen I need to know what Noah said to you on the bus. It's important." I freeze.
" I can't! "
"Erin I need to know. Please you have to tell me!"
" I don't- "
"Erin!!" I pause then continue.
" he said to stay away from you or I'll end up dead." Chase is so quiet on the other end that I'm almost more than sure that he's hung up. "Chase!?"
" Erin. Stay in the house. Promise? "
"O...kay."
" I'll ring you back in ten minutes. Just stay where it's safe. "
"Bye."
I have to sit down before my legs give out. Why did he want me to stay in the house? What was so dangerous outside? I didn't even notice before the phone began to rang that I had dialled chloe's number. "Sup Erin?" ? Loud music was blaring in the background. "Look Chloe I need your help with something. Are you up for it?"
" Depends, what do you need? "
"I need you and your camera and I need you to meet me at 144 Hardgrove estate. Now!"
" aye aye captain. See ya in a few." Something wasn't normal about the Wilson twins. And I was going to find out, they owed me that much.
