His grandmother really went above and beyond a simple breakfast. We each had a huge plate that consisted of two over easy eggs, a few sausage links, one piece of perfectly toasted toast, a small bit of hash browns, a side of one biscuit in a bowl smothered in home made gravy, a glass of milk, orange juice, and water.

Once she gave Hoseok another kiss on his cheek, which was honestly so sweet, and me a pat on my head, she left us alone to enjoy our breatkfast...well, our date.

"This is a lot of food." I said looking at the table.

"This is the best part about visiting your grandmother, she gives you all sorts of food." He stuck his fork in a sausage link and took a bite. He hummed in delight and swallowed. "Eat...you'll love it."

I started to eat and he was right, it was absolutely delicious. We had small talk as we ate, both more hungry that we thought due to the...extraneous activities from the night before. I must say, the biscuit and gravy were the best part, I ate all of it.

"I need this recipe." I mumbled taking my last bite.

He laughed. "You can pry it out of my grandmothers cold dead fingers, she didn't even give my eomma the recipe...not that she could cook."

I couldn't help notice is use of words...could? The point of a date is to get to know each other right? Well that means I can ask questions...personal questions...I think?

"Could?"

"She passed a long time ago." He said quietly.

"I'm sorry to hear that...I don't have either of my parents with me."

"What happened?" he asked.

"My dad was not really the greatest guy...he didn't beat us, but he was very emotionally abusive to my mother. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and he bounced. He didn't want to take care of her. So my aunt stayed with us for a while since I was very young, but she lost the battle when I turned 18."

"I'm sorry." He said taking hold of my hand.

"I miss her." I nodded. "But I know she isn't in pain anymore...she's at peace."

"What about your dad?"

"He died before my mom did. Got involved in drugs and was found in a hotel room dead of an overdose."

"Wow..."

"Yeah, that didn't hurt quite as much, I barely knew the man. What about you?"

"I was close with my father when he was alive. That's my grandmother's son." He said gesturing to the old woman spying on us from the counter. We both laughed and turned back to each other. "He was my hero...he raised me on his own and when I was 19, he was hit by a drunk driver. T-boned him."

"Oh my goodness...Hoseok that's awful." I said squeezing his hand affectionatly.

"It is...but I have very fond memories of him, so that's what I choose to remember when I think of him." He smiled.

"And your Eomma?"

"She made a lot of bad decisions...I didn't know her really. My dad kicked her out long before I could start making memories of her. I just remember going to a funeral when I was around 12, and everyone hugging me telling me they were sorry for my loss. Later my dad told me the funeral was for my mom. But it didn't mean anything...I didn't know her."

"Seems like we have more in common that we thought."

He smiled. "Well I'd say we had a lot in common."

"True..." I smiled. "I was surprised to know that you work with Jimin and now Jungkook. Jimin is actually dating an old friend of mine Yoongi."

"You know Yoongi hyung?"
