3. A Look into Pha's Life  - Secrets (Same Night as the last chapter)

Pha's POV.

As soon as Forth drove off I ran up the six flights of stairs to my family's apartment. If I'm not home by midnight every night; then I'm getting kicked out of the apartment.

Currently, it's 11:58, I have two minutes. Just as I touched the doorknob to our apartment, my mom walked out very pissed off.

"You're late," My mother is a very cold-hearted woman. She speaks very in a monotone and I hate it.

"It's 11:59, I'm on time," I said trying to walk past her but she blocked me from getting in.

"It's 2:27 AM. Where. Have. You. Been," she asked and my heart stopped. I'm going to get kicked out tonight.

"I went to work and then got some dinner, I must've broken my watch, it's 3 hours behind..."

My mother didn't believe me,

"Go pack your things and be out by 3 AM," she said walking back into the apartment.

I have never wanted to cry so much before in my life. Yeah, I'm 20 this was gonna happen someday, but why today? Why today when everything is finally looking better for me, for my future.

"I'm keeping Eva by the way," mom said as I walked towards my room. I stopped walking.

"You can't, you don't have custody of her, Nate and I do, so if anything she's gonna go with Nate," she can't take Eva from me, her and Nate are the only real family I have.

"I don't care if she's your daughter, you're homeless, she's staying here." Mom really doesn't understand what I'm saying.

"Mom--" I was interrupted by a vase breaking by the hallway.

I ran over and saw Eva crawling around on the floor and crying.

"Baby Eva, don't cry, please don't cry," I tried to calm down the crying 3-year-old but it wasn't working.

"PhaPha no leave," she said but leave was pronounced as 'leaf' (because of crying) and it was adorable. she also calls me 'PhaPha' which is adorable. 

"I'm not going anywhere princess, you're just gonna go spend some time with mommy for a while, ok?" I tried to calm her down. Eventually, she stopped crying and just hugged me falling asleep.

Eva is my daughter. She was also the cause of Beam and I's extremely messy breakup in high school. We went to a party my 2nd year, got extremely drunk, and I ended up sleeping with the wrong person... It was completely on accident! I was so blacked-out drunk that I don't even remember most of that night. All I remember is Beam punching me, I passed out, and a couple weeks later at school, this girl comes up to me, Nate, and tells me she's pregnant with my kid. I didn't believe her at first until she showed me all the medical reports and papers from the hospital. Proof that that baby was also my child... I'm just scared for what Forth would think if he knew the truth. And he's friends with Beam, so I'm sure Beam has told him some stuff... Nothing good I bet... Eva wasn't the only reason we broke up...

So now here we are nearly 4 years later with an adorable little girl and the best co-parents ever. Kind of, Nate has full custody of Eva; but she lets me take her every weekend, Eva thinks that I'm her friend and not her dad, which is ok, I don't mind that. Nate and I never dated, she actually has a wife and I'm gay, so we're just two best friends who just happen to have a kid together. While I was packing I had Eva laying on my bed while I called Nate and explained everything to her. She completely understood and came over to pick Eva up so she wouldn't be stuck with my mom or homeless with me.

"Thank you so much, sorry it's so late but I really need you to take her so she isn't stuck here with my mom, you know how she is," I said after my mom slammed and locked the apartment door in my face. 

"It's alright, wanna crash at my place for the night?" Nate asked and I shook my head.

"Why not? Where else are you gonna go?" She asked, I handed Eva to her and took my phone out calling the only person I could think of at the moment. Forth. 

"Yes?" Forth sounded like he had just woken up. I felt bad and hung up and just decided to take Nate's offer. 

"New boy?" Nate asked I nodded. 

"He's friends with Ming and Wayo," I said and we talked the entire way back to her house.

"Did you make out with him? There are hickeys on your neck," Nate pointed out while we walked into the house and she put Eva to bed.

"Kind of," I said but we stopped talking when Nate's wife came into the living room after hearing us talking. 

"Hey Pha," Pring said and smiled seeing me, I haven't come over in a couple weeks. 

"Hey," I smiled as well, Pring, besides Nate, is my best (girl) friend. 

"Kicked out?" She asked I nodded. 

"Get some sleep Pha," Nate said a few minutes later and they went up to their room while I fell asleep on the couch.
