Scai'k POV
(Sorry for the short chapter by the way!)
"Shoot!" I growled. "Shoot, shoot, shoot!"
Steam was pouring out of the generator, and I could hear it straining to work. The fragile metal had been ripped into shreds. The atmosphere was beginning to thin around me. The human vessel must have punctured one of the wall, and even a slight opening would immediately suck out all of the breathable air.
I cursed under my breath at the oomans. How dare they ruin my ship! My angered subsided when I finally realized that they would undoubtedly be dead by now. If they somehow managed to break into X216's atmosphere, they'd most certainly die from either the crash, exposure, dehydration and hunger, and if that didn't kill them, xenomorphs. I smiled inwardly at the thought.
I snapped back to reality. My ship was still broken and had likely been removed from its course during the impact, so I ran back into the cockpit. I secured the door to the power station tightly in an attempt to spare more breathable air.
I sped into the cockpit at lightning speed. My eyes scanned the controls. Darn it. They engine's damage been deemed "critical", and that meant it would take me at least 20 nights to repair it. If I remained in space, I would run out of breathing air quickly unless I managed to find the broken wall, which was very unlikely. Plus, if I continued to run the power station in "critical" condition, I probably would enter the place of no return and never be able to fix the damage.
My eye caught the reflective surface of the planet through my window. I could always land in X216's desert, where there were no xenomorphs. That way, I'd have plenty of time to fix my ship and I could kill always the kainde amedha queen while I was there.
My thoughts wandered to the xenomorph queen reluctantly. I wasn't the strongest hunter in the clan. What if I wasn't ready to kill it?
No. I had no choice. Either I would die in space, or I could attempt to kill the queen and die with honor.
I raised my jaw before reaching over the controls. My hand hovered over the coordinates typed currently in while I reviewed my decision. With a deep growl, my fingers flew between the numbers. The coordinates had been changed to a desert very close to my position around X216.
I decided to check on the condition of the power station. The engine would barely hold together long enough for me to reach the surface, but just right was enough.
They ship was shaking and jerking to the side violently. I gripped the wall next to me to remain balanced before completely toppling onto my back. I huffed angrily.
My feet tucked beneath my chest and I pushed upwards. The wall was just standing there, mocking me with its perfect balance. I hissed and kicked it as hard as I could with my boot. The wall bent outwards slightly. I smiled to myself before turning and leaving the power station once more.
*****
The surface of X216 was becoming larger by the moment. I was perfectly aware that my "landing" would be extremely... uncomfortable, so I'd been extra when securing my weapons and armor. The absolute last thing I wanted was to have a broken Biomask while exiled from my clan.
A sudden jolt of the ship made me snap upright in attention. The radar scanner was beginning to beep as it had when the human ship had impacted mine. That meant that the surface was getting dangerously close.
I hopped into my piloting seat and tightened the bands around my chest and waist to prevent injuries during the rough landing. The cushion beneath me compressed under my weight.
Beep. Beep. Beep. BEEEEEP.
I flinched at the sudden heighten in the noise. The surface was so close, I could hardly look. Alas, I sneaked a peek out my viewing window. My startled gasp was cut short as the ship leveled out and hit the ground.
