Chapter 12:

Chapter 12:

Sam watched his brother pace around the kitchen, looking ready to pull his hair out of his head. It was taking everything Sam had in his body to stay calm or else he would be doing what his older brother was currently doing. It broken Sam's heart a little when he found out that his daughter and niece had taken off in the middle of the night. What was worse was that neither he nor Dean had heard the rumble of the impala when it starts up.

What kind of parents were they?

They had already tried to track the gps in the girl's phones and came up empty. They had turned the gps off. And when they went to the company to find the phone's location the found out the girls had left them in the house. Now Dean and Sam couldn't track them by cell. Dean had practically called ever hunter in the state of Kansas and bobby, who had called other hunters further out. Telling them to look out for the impala.

So far no one had seen anything.

Apparently the girls took after their dad's in the keeping their tracks covered department of hunting. But sometimes even they had made slip ups. They were hoping the girls slipped up and pretty soon too. Sam figured Dean was minutes away from giving himself a panic attack but by the looks of it he was already starting to have one. They both couldn't believe the girls had taken off because they had told them about hunting. But Sam couldn't blame them either. After all, they lived their whole lives in the darks about hunting. Normal. Safe.

Sam was just glad they didn't completely remember the demon ambush that happened when they were five. It would have been devastating to Sam to take his child's innocence away at the very tender age of five.

As Dean was pacing he was watching Sam out of the corner of his eye. Sam always had a way of staying calm in these kinds of situations but he couldn't stand still knowing the fact that his daughter was out there, driving his car with his niece sitting passenger. They were only fifteen years old! Skylar was practically his. He stopped pacing as he came to stand in front of his little brother.

"Do you have any ideas on where they might be headed? Right now I'm open to anything"

"Dean, if I knew I would have been on the road a good two hours ago."

"You think we should call Cas?"

"Wouldn't do any good Sam. There's a hex bag hidden in the car against angels and demons hiding their trail."

"I forgot about that."

"Well I did too until fifteen minutes ago"

"Crap"

Amelia had only got four hours of sleep, but that was enough for her to be up and driving around 8:30. Skylar was up and munching on the snacks they had stashed in the impala's back seat. They were in Missouri now. They had decided they would aim for Tallahassee, Florida. And that was going to take a while. A little over a day but they were going to have to make several stops probably making their trip even longer.

"So Sky, I figure since we're gonna be in the same care for a while, you wanna tell me what happened when your dad and you talked alone?"

"Not right now Emmie"

"Why not?"

"I just don't want to right now Em, I'll do it when I want too"

"Fine, But if you don't open up soon, you'll explode"

"You remember when you got your Dean's pie out and ate all of it? I thought you were gonna explode then"

Both of the girls let out giggles.

"Ah, good times my friend, good times"

The next hour was spent in silence only the sound of the radio filling the empty space. They were still in Missouri when they stopped for a minute to eat, both sitting cross-legged in the back seat with a bag of fast food in the middle of them. They were stopped at yet another rest area. The impala hidden in the corner of the parking lot.

"So how long do you think it will be before our dad's find out where we are, or at least were we're heading?"

"I don't know Skylar, I mean we took all the precautions to hide our tracks but our dad's probably have people on the lookout for us knowing them."

"Yea, probably"

"We still got to be careful; I mean what if we get attacked by something. Like one of the things they said were real when they told us about hunting?"

"Well hopefully we don't encounter something like that."

"Yea"

"Well, we've been stopped for enough time, back to driving."

And in fifteen minutes they were back on the road.

It was past dark and Amelia was still driving. Her and Skylar had stopped two time other than the one this morning. They had been booking it, so they were an hour from meeting the Tennessee state line. They had gotten this far and they were pretty sure that their fathers didn't know where they were.

Good.

It's when they crossed the Florida state line that everything went through the crap shoot. Amelia had pulled over at the first rest stop they had spotted and got out to stretch. They had been in the car the majority of the day and needed to walk around before they couldn't feel their legs at all. The rest area was near a wooded area and houses lined the other side of the highway. Amelia had turned to face Skylar when she though she saw something moving. Her gaze landed on a branch that was shaking like it had just been hit.

Skylar followed her cousin's gaze, wondering what Amelia was staring at. That's when they saw it.

But no one could hear the screams they let out when they saw what was really behind that tree.
