Chapter 11:
It was just after ten when Skylar and Amelia started getting their things together for their little trip to Florida. At dinner, there had not been any talking. Everyone had kinda kept to themselves after Dean's announcement about hunting earlier. Cas and Ambriel had left after the talk and hadn't been seen since that. They had their own problems probably. But right now Amelia and Skylar were in Amelia's room packing clothes inside their duffle bags when Amelia spoke up.
"Alright this is it Skylar. Two hours left before we leave and we have to get through it without getting caught."
"Dean and my dad are already asleep. Just don't wake them up."
Amelia noticed that her cousin had been quiet this whole time. She hadn't even looked up when she asked her a question. Amelia would find out later but they had to finish packing without being caught.
"You positive about that?"
"Yes I am, now hurry up!"
Amelia watched as her cousin packed the duffle bags that had clothes in them. She had taken care of food and already had it stashed in the car. Blankets and pillows just in case they couldn't stay in a motel. She had snagged some of her dad's cash too.
"Okay, I'm done. Help me load this into the car."
Amelia helped Skylar with the bags as they made their way down the stairs and outside. They quickly put the bags in the back and made their way back into the house. They sat at the kitchen table and silently waited for the two hours to pass before they tried to make their getaway. It was ten minutes to midnight when they got up from the table. Amelia headed toward the stairs while Skylar headed to the back door.
"Alright I'm gonna go get the keys and when I get back we head out, okay Skylar?"
"I got it Em."
As Skylar put her hand on the door handle and watched her cousin make her way upstairs to get the keys to the impala, she began to worry. What if they got caught by their dad's? They would be in major trouble, but at this point she didn't care. Her dad had already hurt her enough, why not return the favor? She grabbed her dad's keys to his truck off the counter when she heard Arya coming back down.
She looked back toward the stairs to see Arya standing at the bottom of the stairs, jingling Dean's keys that were now in her hand. She had a smirk plastered on her face.
"Ready?"
Skylar nodded as a smile appeared on her face.
"Yea, let's go"
They quietly made their way out the back door and toward Dean's beloved impala. Amelia quickly hopped into the driver's side while Skylar sat passenger. She put the key in the ignition, not turning the car on just yet. She turned toward her cousin.
"You got your dad's keys?"
Skylar just put her hand up, swinging the keys back and forth. Amelia just smiled.
"Well then. Let's go"
Amelia turned the keys, started the impala. Hoping the rumble of the engine didn't wake up their fathers. Amelia figured her dad was drunk enough to sleep through the sound of the impala starting. Sam, she didn't know about. She and Skylar had forgotten their plan of sleeping pills in their dad's drinks. She took off down the gravel road that lead up to their home and hit the road, within minutes they were now on the highway, heading as far away as they could away from their home, toward Florida hopefully.
It was sometime around 4 am when Amelia pulled over into a parking lot. She had to or else she thought she was going to fall asleep at the wheel, and heaven forbid if she crashed the impala and her dad found out about it. That and she wasn't even legal driving age.
She didn't really care though right now.
She looked over at Skylar who was already asleep in the passenger seat; Skylar had fallen asleep two hours ago. Amelia couldn't believe they actually did it. Took off from home without their fathers knowing or finding out. They had gotten out of the state of Kansas a little over 30 minutes ago. Now they were pulled over in a rest area under some trees. She knew their dad's would notice they were gone probably before morning but she figured her and Skylar would be even farther away from Kansas then they were now. She had taken all the precautions to make sure it took a while for Sam and her Dad to find them. Amelia closed her eyes and slouched down in the seat a little, hoping to catch a few hours possibly before driving again.
They were getting to Florida one way or another.
As Soon as Dean woke up he had a bad feeling.
He was walking down the hall heading downstairs when he noticed his daughter's door was cracked open. So when he pushed the door open and poked his head inside only to find Amelia's room empty. Maybe she was already up? It was Saturday though; usually Amelia and Skylar weren't up before noon. So Dean went and checked Skylar's room too. Skylar wasn't in her room either. The bad feeling Dean had was ready to swallow him whole. Something was very wrong. He practically flew down the stairs and into the kitchen, panicking when he found it empty. There wasn't any noise coming from the living room either.
There was one last place Dean had to check before he got Sam up. Dean flew out the back door only to stop dead in his tracks. Where the impala sat was now just a patch of grass. That's when Dean realized Skylar and Amelia were gone and had taken off in his car. They were only fifteen for crying out loud! He was hoping they got pulled over so he would at least know where they are.
Was this because of him telling them about hunting?
He didn't dwell on the fact to long before he heard the back door open. He practically gave himself whiplash turning to face the door. Disappointed with the fact that it was just Sam.
"Dean, have you seen Skylar or Amelia for that matter?"
Dean threw his hands up in the air exasperated.
"They freaken took off Sam! And in my CAR!"
