Tuesday 12th February. It's so close to Valentine's Day. Everyone is out with their partners, planning special trips and holidays together. You're alone, again. Yet you know in your heart there's someone you love endlessly and you hope you can pull him for a little lunch date. You just need to find the perfect time to ask him. But you're running out of time.
Previously you had visited a little restaurant near your school with Yoonha and today the two of you will go there to reserve the table for Valentine's so you can take Felix. Emotions are running so high in your body, you're so excited yet so nervous... what if he says no.. what if he doesn't answer at all.. what if his brothers don't want him to go out.. so much could happen but you're going to try it.. you want to take Felix on a little lunch date.
School comes to an end, it's 10:30pm on a Tuesday and you are really worn out. As you take a slow stroll towards the gate you get nervous and butterflies build in your stomach.. tonight is the night, you book that special table where you and Felix can talk more for the first time. Yoonha screams as she sees you at the gates of the school and pulls you towards the road, she's rushing and screaming but manages to say: "let's do it, let's do it, let's go, hurry, hurry, hurry!!!"
You roll your eyes and sigh as you are dragged by your best friend. "Woah woah Yoonha, slow down, I wanna go at my pace!" You scream back, the two of you laughing and slowing down and looking towards the warm, local restaurant.
It's slightly windy and your hair is flowing behind you, your skin glowing naturally in the street lights and the warm glow of the restaurant brightening your path. Your future with Felix lays in this place, the place you and Yoonha became true friends, the place you share all your secrets and the place where you feel at home.
Pushing open the door you call out softly: "Auntie Auntie, I'm here." She comes running towards you with her arms outstretched, she pulls you in, patting your back before leading you to your table, she's already set up your chopsticks and spicy tteokbokki and small glasses of water for you and Yoonha. You sit down into your chair and smile sweetly at Auntie Lee.
Yoonha coughs and you look towards her. She directs her head towards Auntie and you know you have to ask.
You nod slowly at her and look back to Lee.
"Auntie, I .. I .. can .. mm.." you try to say but incredibly nervous. She places her hand on your shoulder and sweetly says "(y/n) what is it sweetie? Ask me anything!"
"Auntie, I really need this table for Valentine's Day.. I want.. I'm going to bring someone really special to me.." you rush with no hesitation.
She gasps in return and smiles so widely, your heart begins to pound out of your chest.
"Of course, of course!! What food do you want? What drinks? Who is he? Is he cute? Is he nice? Do I know him?" She says. You laugh in return and tell her that you want something small for starters, you both love chicken so she writes down to prepare chicken wings for starters, main course is a well done steak with chips and for dessert you have requested Auntie's homemade mousse, a velvety milk and white chocolate mix with dark chocolate shavings and a cut strawberry on top. It's the best, sweetest dessert and hopefully will be something the two of you will enjoy to end the little lunch date. For drinks you've asked for cola but water on the side just in case.
Auntie smiles and nods, she's excited for you and can't wait to deliver for you.
The night is finally over and you're laying on your bed after a long needed shower, you've got the tv show friends playing in the background and you're thinking about how you are going to ask Felix tomorrow .. how you approach him, what you wear and what to do.. there's so much to think about. Suddenly you snap back to reality as you get a snapchat alert from Felix.
Eagerly you open it there is the cutest little smile.. he's winking and smiling while holding chicken.. he captioned the photo "Hey Hey, I'm sorry I've been busy for a few days, I'll see you tomorrow right? You looked like you wanted to say something today.. I walked away so quick.. I'm really sorry (y/n) x"
You read the caption several times before clicking off, you open your camera, place on a cute filter and take a picture, looking at it you tilt your head a bit, you debate whether it's good enough but you know it's the best you'll get for now, you caption it: "Felixxxx it's fine, you're busy and you have a long schedule, I'm glad you added my snapchat haha, you look cute! I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well x"
With that you place your phone on the table next your bed and roll over, turning the tv off and snuggling into the warmth of your bed.. you let out a little laugh and you can't believe how cute Felix looked or the fact he's eating chicken at 12:30am.. but anytime is chicken time for you too.
You close your eyes.. tomorrow is an exciting day.
