The sound of voices growing louder downstairs eventually woke me up.
I was hot, really hot, and it took a couple of seconds to realise it was Noah's body heat making me sweat. Still fast asleep, he lay curled around me from behind, one arm draped heavily over my waist.
Ignoring the fact my back was burning up, I shuffled into him a little closer. I had no idea how long we'd been asleep, laid there on top of the newly unpackaged sheets, but I wanted to soak up every second of him being close to me.
As I backed up all the way into his body, I could feel his erection start to grow again within his jeans.
Letting out a grumble, he pulled his arm tightly around my waist and breathed heavily into the back of my neck.
"Stop it..." he growled, before planting a light kiss on the nape of my neck.
"I'm not doing anything!" I protested half-heartedly, causing him to chuckle softly before placing one more kiss on my neck, then rolling away and standing up off the bed.
"Let's eat," he said, as his stretched his arms high above his head. Taking in every inch of his still-shirtless torso, food was the last thing on my mind. I would rather have starved than miss the opportunity to be with a half-naked Noah.
"I'm not hungry," I replied with a shrug.
"Well I am. Come on, it sounds like people are home now. Let's see what they're doing for dinner."
As we made our way downstairs, all the lights were on and the house was alive with bodies once again.
Raising my good arm in a quick wave as Noah led me into the kitchen, I spotted Mikey and James sat on the big wooden table already digging into pizza. Another guy I didn't recognise was sat alongside them. And then, at the end of the table, sat fucking Vanessa.
Feeling slightly riled about how comfortable she looked being there in Noah's house, I plastered on my best fake smile as she waved over to me.
"Hey, Abi, how are you doing? I've not seen you since before the... before, you know?"
"I'm good thanks, on the mend now," I replied, gesturing awkwardly with my slinged arm as I pulled a face about it.
Smiling back at me, she flicked her long red hair over to one side.
"I wasn't expecting to see you here," she continued. "I didn't realise you two were..."
"Us two were what?" Noah butted in.
"Were an item." Vanessa replied, raising her eyebrows inquisitively.
"We're not," Noah snapped back. "Abi just needed a bit of space so she's hanging out here for a couple of days."
As he walked over to grab us a couple of plates and some pizza, my feet stayed rooted to the spot as I soaked in his words. I was fully aware we hadn't put a label on things yet but, given the way we'd been acting all weekend, I didn't realise he would be so quick to brush it off as nothing.
"Abi, are you still in there?"
Snapping back into the room, I realised Noah was talking to me.
"Sorry, what?"
"Cheese and tomato or pepperoni? How many of each?"
"Oh, um, one of each would be great. Thanks."
As he walked back towards me with a plate in each hand, I could see Vanessa following his every move with her eyes.
"Let's eat upstairs," Noah instructed.
"Catch you two lovebirds later!" Vanessa called after us, before I heard the voices in the kitchen laughing among themselves.
