Chapter 18: Doc! Thank God!

Your POV 

We looked over at the DeLorean as it opened up. Doc stepped out of it and we smiled with relief. He looked at us after he hit his head on the door of the DeLorean.  He walked over to us slowly. "So,you were the same Marty and (y/n)! Funny how memory can play tricks on a person. I remember you both being much taller." he said before we both hugged him tightly. We pulled away and smiled wide. "How was the ceremony?" I asked and he shook his head. "Long." he said before he got the piece of newspaper out of his pocket. "You've both got a theatrical way of sending messages!" he said. 

We nodded. "Only way we could without messing up your timeline," Marty said. He nodded. "Very clever. But what are you doing in 1931?" he asked. I sighed deeply. "We had originally come here to find out who burned down the speakeasy, but ended up causing a big mess in the process that we've spent fixing for the last week." I said. He looked at the two of us as we explained everything that happened. He nodded slowly as he looked at us after we were done. He shook his head and cut us off. "Don't, I don't want to know, it's better that I don't. Let's just get back to 1986 unless your presence has caused any other time anomalies" he said 

Before we could continue with anything Artie's dad showed up looking for his son. Evidently, he was getting married to a Canadian Floozy! We looked at Doc and he shrugged before we sighed. "That explains the secret that Artie and Trixie had. But if they get married then he'll never marry Sylvia." we looked to Marty. "Are you fading in and out?" I asked. He shook his head. Willie went back inside and Danny pulled up looking for Edna since the DeLorean was back. Apparently, she jumped through time when he was chasing her and now she's somewhere in the past. 

"Do you have any idea what date she jumped to?" he asked. Marty and I shook our heads. "The time circuits in the DeLorean are out of whack, we don't know where she jumped to." I said. Doc started to pace a little. "This is very bad! Let's just hope she jumped to the future and not the past" he said. We were talking before Danny disappeared and then the rest of Hill Valley followed. I looked at Doc and Marty. "That can't be good."I said. We looked around to see Willie McFly show up in his truck as he told us that there hasn't been a Hill Valley here in years. We'd have to talk to Scary Mary to find out what happened, but she doesn't like anyone, and she won't talk about it. We looked at each other after he left. "Anyone else get the feeling that this scary Mary is Edna?" I asked. They nodded and looked at me. 

"We have to go find her don't we?" I asked. They nodded and we got into the DeLorean and drove off where she was at. Only to find the last DeLorean, completely trashed and a house that had a bunch of random junk littered around the yard. The mailbox had read "Mary Pickford" I looked at doc and he shrugged before Marty triggered the alarm system she had made out of metal from the DeLorean. She looked out the window and yelled at us. "Step away from the cabin!" 

I looked up to see her in an old hat and ragged clothes. I looked over to Marty who only shrugged as Doc looked at the remains of the DeLorean she stole. We got her to leave the house as she tried to get us to leave. Doc noticed that she was suffering from something that happened and she's trying to forget. "What if she went even crazier than before she was when she stole the DeLorean? Like the surprise of the DeLorean, time-jumping set her over the edge?" Doc nodded as Marty looked at us. 

"From the trauma of that experience and whatever happened to Hill Valley, she's trying to suppress the memories." Doc said. I chuckled "Knowing Edna she probably burned down the buildings trying to stop Mad Dog Tannen from having a saloon." I said and they looked at me. "What?" I asked. "That's right, that's what happened." Doc said and I rose a brow. We got Edna's attention and got her to come down since Emmett wanted to see her. Now she was hanging onto Doc and I was trying not to throw up in a bush. "How are we supposed to make her remember what she did?" I asked and Marty shrugged. "Let's get her to remember Doc first." he said. 

I nodded as they were talking. "Schnookums" Doc said and she cheered up and remembered how she had tried to close down his booth at the expo on October 13th of 1931 and something about Danny that made her woozy. We looked at her before we rose a brow. I walked over and grabbed a hat from a sign and sighed gently as I looked to the three. We can't talk to her directly to get everything else. I pushed the button on the fake plant and it played her confession. She tried to stop us before she caught a glimpse of a cactus and thought that it was Danny before she got into the driver seat of the destroyed DeLorean and tried to drive away. I looked at Marty and Doc before I shrugged. This might be trickier than we thought.
