I will be awake
Whether it's day or night
I can' t sleep
Whether I'm tired or not
Not with the monsters
They wait 'til night to show up
And they never leave
I can never sleep
For I am most vulnerable at night
I will never know what they do
They can hurt me
They can rape me
They can attack me
They can sexualize me
So I don't sleep
They love it when I can't keep my eyes open
For that's the peak time to attack
People say to stand up
People say to use my voice
But they're louder
They're taller
They have the power
My power
They have freedom
My freedom
They have me captive
Taking pictures in the dark
Photographing my flaws
My imperfections
My problems
My fears
I will always be awake
Until the end
