Finally, its time.
9:45pm, I made my way out of the house into the dark and empty street.
These streetlights are not doing anything to brighten the street up.
I walked as fast as I could to meet up with Noah before he decides I won't show up and disappear with my hanky again.
I got to the spot and saw him standing with his back to me , tapping his foot against the tarred street road, the lonely night assists in making the sound echo
As if he knew I was behind him, he turned around and greeted me
"When did you get here"
"Few minutes ago, why?"
"I thought I kept you waiting for long"
"No you didn't"
"Okay"
"Your hanky" he handed me the hanky
"Thanks"
"You're welcome, goodnight" he said and started walking off, why is he so cold
"Noah?"
"Yes" he replied in a sharp voice
"Want to talk?"
"I have nothing to talk about" he replied
"Why are you so cold?"
"Am I?"
"Yes , you are. you are not the guy who annoyed me yesterday and persistently kept pressing for information. This is not you, you would stay and talk if you were okay, whats wrong?"
He sighed and walked back to me
"I'm sorry if I made you feel bad, this isn't about you, it's my dad. he is just so annoying, he won't quit the bitching about my mom"
"Want to talk about it?"
He sighed again then we walked towards the bench at the bend. He began talking the moment we had our seat
"My mom died when I was 7, she was an alcoholic, she can't sleep without a glass of wine and instead of food in the kitchen, we had wine in huge supply. My dad had an affair with his childhood best friend and that was the beginning of it all, the family became a mess, dad stopped creating time for us, sometimes he would sleep out and finally my mom decided to move out of town with me. The two years I lived with her were the last happy years of my life since she died, I've been living in hell"
"I'm so sorry about that, how did she die?"
"Suicide (he paused and bursted into tears) she killed herself, I wasn't there for her, she thought she lost me too so she killed herself..."
"I'm so sorry" I moved towards him and placed my hands on his shoulders
"My dad lives here" I started in a bid to balance the equation
"How is that? Why do you live apart?"
"He re-married"
"He. he( Noah stuttered obviously still shaken by the talk we had about his mom) How could he still stay in sight, to make your mom jealous?"
"I guess. The annoying news is , he couldn't find someone else to do it with but my mom's best friend who is now her ex bestfriend" I clenched my fists in anger
"How could he do that? When was the last time you spoke to him?"
"The day he left"
"Like you don't see him?"
"Of course , I do, Every day but my mom became real protective afterwards and I don't really get out of the house , only on very important occasions and we don't have that often cos mom's family is not here, she travelled across the globe to be with my dad . 2 days ago was my first funtime outside the house and if I remember being outside on any other occasion then it will be the unpleasant time when my mom didn't change my surname after the divorce and the kids in school who were friends with my dad's step daughter started bullying me and calling me a dad snatcher and all sort of names. I was 5 and ..." I closed my eyes and remembered everything
"Its okay, you're not the dad snatcher, after all he is your dad"
"Thanks" I replied and wiped my tears
"Want me to cheer you up?" Noah asked
"Like you could"
"Hmm, but I just did"
"How?"
"You replied me with a smirk and now you're ready for a joke which is not coming, gotcha"
I face palmed and laughed
"You're funny"
"Am I?"
"Yes you are" I replied him
" if you say so"
"So now we both have dad issues. That is funny too" I said and laughed again
"Yeah"
"Great"

We spent the next hour talking about random things and when it was 10 minutes to my curfew, we decided to meet again tomorrow, same place, same time.
