He pulled me into his arms and started to move with the distant music. He looked at me with such intensity that it left me breathless. I knew this was not right. This was not supposed to happen. But as I gazed into his obsidian eyes, I wanted to believe that it was okay.

The song had ended but he did not. He continued to dance with much grace and poise, with a slight smile on his face and me in his arms. But my conscience has caught up with me. The trance had been broken with the final note of the last song. I was tossed back to reality where he was my teacher and I was his student. Furthermore, he was engaged to be married. I looked down and slowly stopped, preventing him from moving any further.

"I'm sorry," I whispered as I gently let his hands free.

He moved closer, my head almost against his chest, and raised his finger to lift my chin. Now, he could see the silent tears streaming from my eyes.

He moved his face closer to mine. He closed his eyes as his lips were at a few centimeters from mine. I closed my eyes as well, forever hoping for the kiss that was never to come to be.
