It was easy enough to be liberal with our secret names around the Marauders. Sirius had made it his mission to avoid me this year, and yet, I had found perfectly legitimate reasons to run into him in the company of my friends.

"Snow!" Lucius stopped mid-step, and turned to look at me. Sirius had been just in front of him, and he had turned as well to observe. Once being allowed to catch up, Lucius had caught on to the plan as well, and he gripped my hand in his. I watched soft grey morph to sharp silver at the contact, and he seemed to fall behind us as we walked towards our charms class.

"So, I was thinking that tonight, we get everyone together, and we head out? I think that Mittens would like a little stroll, and I know for a fact that Scruff would too!" Lucius nodded his head, and tugged me a little closer so that more than our shoulders brushed together as we walked. I could feel someone staring at me, though I knew who it was, I felt a thrill rush through me at the annoyance we were causing Sirius.

"Sounds like a grand idea Flames. I'll let Tails and Mane know, you tell the others? Perfect. I have to stop and drop off a book with a friend, but I'll meet you in class. See you soon." Lucius pressed a ghost of a kiss to my cheek, before turning on his heel and walking the other way. He had supplied Sirius an opening, and I wondered if he would take it. He didn't disappoint.

"Hey Phoenix." I turned my head towards him as I continued on my way to class. I wondered where he thought he was going considering he was supposed to be in potions, or at least on his way.

"Black. To what do I owe the most grievous displeasure of your company?" I watched as he winced and shoved his hands in his pockets. He bowed his head a moment, and then lifted it again, a fire blazing in his eyes. He checked the hallway, and finding it void except for us, he shoved me towards the closest classroom door, and slammed it shut behind us.

"What the bloody hell are you thinking? I have class to get to!"

"I don't want to fight anymore! I don't want us to be enemies anymore, it's exhausting Phoenix! I want us to be Pads and Silver again." I sneered at him and crossed my arms over my chest, trying to hide myself from him. I hadn't been very concerned with being friends with him since last year, and after forming the Crusaders, I was more than happy to forget he existed, besides the fact I wanted to annoy him as much as his presence annoyed me.

"You should have thought of that before you decided that your precious Gryffindors were more important than your first friend. I didn't have any problems with you having other friends, I can't take all your attention, it wouldn't be fair. But you cut ties when you let them call you Pads. That was my name for you, not theirs! Though I suppose you've changed that a little now haven't you, Padfoot. Don't go believing you're as discreet as you think you are." I watched his eyes spark with anger, and it was mesmerizing watching his eyes swirl like mercury pools.

"Oh yeah? And what about you, Flames! Snow, Mittens, what the hell are those names even supposed to be?" I changed my sneer to a smirk and relaxed my stance a little.

"Wouldn't you love to know. That's my business, not yours. Just like it's none of my business to know that you call yourselves the Marauders. Padfoot, Prongs, which I'm positive is Potter, I've heard Moony, who is obviously Remus Lupin, and I've heard Peter Pettigrew being very liberal with his own name, Wormtail. That's a little rude, don't you think? He's a bit round and cowardly, but he's definitely not wormy." I watched his face twist with surprise and confusion, before anger replaced both those emotions. I wondered if he was going to lash out at me, but he quietly stepped aside from the door, and I brushed past him. I sat down in my charms class between Lucius and Narcissa, Severus on Narcissa's left. Lucius leaned over to whisper to me while Professor Flitwick gave his lecture on the spark charm Periculum.
