chapter 3

author note; i started writing this in february, but i have barely paid attention to this story because of basketball and school and trying to get into the right classes for highschool. and we will say that toni is living with her abusive uncle

toni's pov

cheryl storms off with tears in her eyes. i see her go into what i'm guessing is the girls' locker room. i see her crying on the bench, i walk silently to her and sit down next to her. 
"look we've all done bad things, including the serpents. but trust me the ones who had anything to do with your brother's death, has been punished. we've both lost significant people in our lives so if you're feeling alone and vulnerable i will help you, but you need to trust me."

cheryl looks up at me with eyes that tell her story, broken, alone, just a girl looking for someone to want her and need her back. she hides it with a face that rules with terror and destruction, but if you got the chance to get closer, you can see all the cracks in her facade. i gently take her into a hug and kiss her forehead saying reassuring words and things that might just make her feel better. when i hear her start to calm down i explain my backround with the serpents, 

"the serpents have been a support family for me since my parents died, when i had nowhere to stay when my uncle kicked me out. they definetly aren't perfect, but we try to be the best version of ourselves."

"well t, i'm sure your parents are very proud of the caring person you have come to be. but regardless, i can't be seen with you because i have a reputation to uphold. and if my parents find out, it will end up on the more violent side."

"well bomshell, you can rely on me if you have any family drama and need a person to talk to or a shoulder to cry on. really, through the war between the north and south i think we both need each other more than you think. so here's my number if you need someone to...talk to," i say, looking up at her, making it very obvious to see i'm looking at her lips.

cheryl stands up from her previous position on the bench and looks at my phone, that i'm holding in my hand, and takes it, putting her number in. she hands it back with a smirk, quickly regaining her confidence, looks me up and down and says, "we'd make a hot couple," and struts out.

before she closes the door, she looks back over her shoulder to see me dumbfounded and says slyly, "where's the witty comeback cha cha?"

cheryl's pov

i have no idea what i have gotten myself into. messing with a serpent, going as far as flirting with her. my mother are very much aware of my sexuality, do they support it, only in public to keep the family name good. but i have a plan that both toni and i can benefit from. i drive home and text toni to meet me at pops tonight and she replies almost instantly. we make an official plan for 6pm and i decide to take a shower before i head out. after i get out of the shower and look at the time and see its 5pm. i get ready, picking out a red tube top, black denim skirt, and black thigh highs. i applied natural makeup, and not forgetting my red lipstick. i put on my black jacket and quickly headed out of the house so my mom doesn't stop me. 

i was 15 minutes early to pops, so i ordered a strawberry milkshake and waited on my phone. 

"hey princess, why are you early?"

i looked up to see her wearing a purple tank top, black ripped jeans, her serpent jacket(lets just pretend that she didn't get kicked out), and black platform doc martens. she cheerfully smiled at the pops waitress before she sat down and ordered herself a chocolate milkshake.

"so topaz, i had a wonderful idea. since, you are so broken and looking for love over the blonde bimbo, morgan, and i know most cheerleaders are swooning over you and your serpent pals."

"-wait hold up some vixens, want to hook up with me?"

"i propose that we pretend to date. it will piss morgan off, the cheerleaders will see me as even more than a leader, and it will piss my mom off that i'm dating a southsider. of course, we will create some rules or boundaries with a contract." i see toni think it over in her head, biting her lip in concentration. she finally looks up at me and smirks saying, "okay, let's do it. can we do the contract now?"

contract-

i, antoinette topaz, promise to keep this relationship with cheryl m. blossom a secret. although this relationship isn't truly real, i will still treat them her with respect and love. if one of us is to grow feelings for the other, they must confront the other and see how to take the relationship from there. below are rules and boundaries we both must follow:

1. get the stories/excuses straight

2. if one is caught, you will back the other one up, both sides must benefit from the agreement

3. we will comfort one another if the other isn't feeling her best

4. be known as a social couple such as showing public affection

5. to seem like a regular couple, we should attend parties together, go on dates at least once a  week, and not show affection to another person

6. consent in intercourse is very important, never go to far in an activity unless making sure the other is okay with it

7. if contract is broken, we will hope that the two both remain friends

cheryl double checks the contract then signs the contract and passes it over the table for toni to  look over. toni blush at some rules and signed, she looks at cheryl while she extended her hand out to shake on it. 

"when do you wanna get started and tell people," toni asks. 

"i dont know maybe monday at school. we can have you come to vixens practice and kiss in front of them. they are the biggest gossipers and i know they will spread the word fast across the whole school."

"lets do it baby," toni says smirking.
