There are a few questions about conflicts:
What is the conflict?
Who causes it?
Why does it happen/ what is the antagonists' reason for doing it?
These are all vital in making a good, well-thought-out conflict. But first, what is a conflict? A conflict is a problem that needs to be solved. There are several types of conflicts:
Character vs. Character
Where a character has a problem with another characterCharacter vs. Nature
A character has a problem with something in nature, (ex. A storm, being attacked by a bear...)Character vs. Society
Where a character has a problem with societyCharacter vs. Self
A character has a problem with themselvesYou should identify what type of conflict you have in your story, and ask, is it interesting?I
Have you thought out the solution yet? What is it? Does the main character change or do others change?
Who causes the conflict?
The antagonist, of course, but who is the antagonist?
An idea for a very interesting conflict is when it has layers. The protagonist has to solve lots of things, like clues and such, and they all connect for the big solution.
If you want me to rate your plot, conflict, and characters, I have a plot rater.
